I love kate and she is really talented and self taught creatively, but I've actually read her book (because I really like her work) and she had a REALLY privileged upbringing! So she's not self made to the same extend as Jeffrey, who came from nothing. Kate's dad is the former Chairman and CEO of HBO. She grew up with having Horses as pets, private schools etc ;) As she mentioned in the video, she grew up in hidden hills, a super expensive neighbourhood.

Her dad was the CEO of HBO which is where the money probably came from but even today with the crazy mansions (cough castles) in Hidden Hills the median home value in 2020 is 2M so in 1990 it was probably more modest as well. She didn’t live in a Jeffree esque mansion. But yes it’s so neat to see her parents raised her and her sister so down to earth despite the wealth❤️

I love this plan! My first thought for the spa was a whole Himalayan pink salt rock WALL moment. Salt rocks are supposed to be good for all kinds of health stuff and it’s pretty, it brings in a natural element and an homage to iconic pink that Jeffery is known for but in a classy way. Just a thought.
