To my knowledge the green dudes are from the early development of tf2 but never got past being a drawing the devs made. They were simply called "The mercenary" and later they had a model made for them (I think by a tf2 community member?) and the model's clothing can be recolored very easily, thus green to fit the military aesthetic. The merc is typically used as stock cannon fodder in animations or as personal guards for some of the actual tf2 merc's bosses like the administrator. If you keep watching tf2 animations you may see them pop in from time to time only to either get immediately destroyed or to stand menacingly near a door. The robot was likewise a tf2 animation model from a very high quality animation called "A wrench in the gears"

No it's not in TF2 BUT IT'S VERY FAMOUS IN THE COMMUNITY It's from an AMAZING sfm and honestly the best SFM related to the Mann vs. Machine mode You HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT, it's called "Wrench in the Gears" it's absolutely amazing and it's the most creative SFM to date as far as I know and it could even be a potential MvM content update if valve would actually care to implement some new things. It's also an 8 year old animation already btw.

Pootis Engage was made from the meme "Naruto Running into area 51" back in 2019 where people say that they are keeping the anime girls in Area 51 and, y'know people want to raid Area 51. It has nothing to do with pootis. It's just because Heavy says pootis and Heavy is the main character in Pootis Engage. There is also no explanation of why and how Heavy does things in the video. It's just a bunch of memes, video game and anime references compiled into a chaotic, but at the same time, straightforward story. So yea, definitely watch the sequel. It doesn't explain anything, just there for the fun chaos. 👍

Jumping to pootis engage as a starter is kinda... so many little jokes that only make sense without first playing the game for a good period of time and watching some of the other classics. Really brain breaking if you have only dipped your toes in the pool. POOTIS ENGAGE is a very reference overdosed video, and so is its sequel, and it doesn't help that it decided to reference all things TF2, and everything is a TF2 reference. And I mean that when I say it. TF2 is the melting pot of the internet and it is painfully easy to bring your own interests into the game. The TF2 community likes to take things they like and bring them into the game, and the TF2 community is a part of every community. Now you will really start to understand what I mean once you have spiraled deep enough into the community that you have started playing the community game modes. That's a little bit of a tangent though, so let me go back to pootis engage. If I had to tell you why it's called "pootis engage", you can make heavy say "pootis" by getting him to say "pootdispencer here" and then canceling the voiceline early by doing almost anything. And why wouldn't you want a video to be called "[funny word] engage". And the story is simple. Blu heavy was browsing memes in the loo, saw that he could procure hot, anime ass and titties in area 51, and decided to head to area 51 to aquire some anime thighs. Of course, he couldn't leave out his friend, so he called up Red Heavy so the both of them could Raid Area 51. Now after breaking in, causing a lot of property damage and slaughtering countless mook mercenary fooder, they only have one obstacle between them and a reason to create several tens of thousands of gallons of "mad milk", and "Pootis Engage Extreme" focuses entirely on that fight. Also, every time you see heavy just sort of standing there in a sort of A pose, that's an actual thing you can do in game. By forcing your held weapon to be set to something null, you can break the animations for every class and they will default to their reference pose. It tends to be seen as an assertion of dominance, in addition to being terrifying. Just imagine yourself minding your own business, and then this giant, Russian man *SLIDES UP TO YOU* _without_ so much as *breathing* and then proceeds to stare into your soul while he calls you a spy. You can see why the all powerful Blu Heavy chose to not animate plenty of times during the animation. Also, he did the little Ok hand gesture that necessitates getting a slap on the neck when looked at right at the very end. Only reason that last mercenary got merked. But just so you have a bit more knowledge when it comes to popular memes in the TF2 community, I recommend that you watch "Team Fabulous 2" considering how that video spawned a bunch of memes. The video also exemplifies the soul of TF2. An average round usually tends to play out very similar to what goes on Team Fabulous 2. Save for the moon crashing down... Might also suggest "Attack on Heavy" as pootis engage can be considered a sort of sequel to attack on heavy.
