These fish were caught a few weeks ago as in the description haven't been salmon fishing since the hot weather but starting back now, have had great fun with bass, pollock and mackerel.

That's a great fish, the way things are going for the salmon, even one fish in three days fishing hard, is a great reward these days.

I keep saying to people put in the hard days, start of season, wet, cold, windy, floods etc it's all practice for the good days as it improves your understanding of the river, casting, approach to flies and techniques but most of all how precious catching and releasing a spring salmon is. Tight lines.

Have you tried using any Clear fly lines? With low clear water, i think i might get a Clear fly line and see if that stops spooking the fish,.

Tried clear intermediate fly line and didnt find much difference as the clear intermediate tip plus 6/8ft of flurocarbon but when fishing low water its how you put down the line that matters most. If you can put it down delicately without splashing or too much disturbance thats the key, softer approaches are more important.

Hi Paul, would you be able to explain you leader set up and size of fly ? Do you use two flies or one? Many thanks

The next video is on that topic, its my set up of sink tips, polyleaders and tippets. This set up is a 7wt 10ft Switch fly rod, floating line, intermediate 10ft versileader and 6ft of 5kg flurocarbon to a size 15 double salar allys shrimp fly.
