“I’ll never say another bad word about you” is a reference to the song “little man”. His father told him he didn’t like being spoken bad about on his songs. So when he passed slug wrote this. Also for way deeper in depth, look at “nothing but sunshine” for more parental history.

The album came out like 3 weeks before my dad died and it saved me. I got to thank Slug for it when I saw him perform a few years ago.

Coming up on 29 years ago I lost mine, this song still hits hard. Slug is a master of conveying the underlying emotion. Peace and strength to others who lost theirs, be the best one you can be for your kids.

this was/is my favorite atmosphere song. this is the first time i have listened to it on two years. Since my father passed away i have been unable to listen to it. for some reason i came across your video and decided to hear that last verse one more time.. its still hard. dont know if it ever will not be. but thank you MRLBOYD. Thank you for taking the time to break down this lyrical masterpiece and for reacquainting me with my favorite song that i can no longer listen to. thank you,.

Always loved this song for the sentiment and the way it’s written in that you don’t really know what it’s about til the very end. It’s such a good song. But then I lost my dad earlier this week. Booyyy does this song hit different. Gotta love atmosphere. One of few artists that can really make you feel things
@ryanhiggins9494 Жыл бұрын
I hate when people see the twist ending before the end. The song is written to make you think it's about a divorce or a really nasty break up. That final line hits so hard when you don't see it coming.

How are you going to going to be mad that someone's an active listener? Part of the reason the mainstream is so bad is because of passive listeners who don't even care what they're listening to.

This song sounds early 2000’s because it’s from 2008 😂 The song “nothing but sunshine” explains a lot about his childhood. His father k*lled himself after his mother d*ed. Atmosphere is one of my favorite hip hop groups in the world. Slug has a way with words and Ant is a ridiculous dj. I saw them in Chicago recently! They’re both so silly and kind. Love your channel btw!

Every time I hear this song I think there's a double going on..like he's talking about his dad, but he's also talking about himself in the same perspective...maybe it's my own thoughts about my life but I feel like there's more going on in this story
