I am loving wizard spike for my wind druid, working on finishing Hell difficulty. Lets me easily hit my FCR breakpoints, max resistances, and adds a ton of mana. Dropped it off a trash mob while farming nightmare Baal. I absolutely love this build

I am level 75, running wizard spike, lidless shield, lore helm, with some added res and fcr in my rings, a +druid skill amulet, and my charms are just resistances, mana, and life. I can tank some of the toughest areas in hell so far. Elemental skills all maxed so I don't have any trouble killing things

Im using smoke for my resistances, the weapon slots are both spirits, mana my Merc has insight Wizard spike can be useful for res tho, depends on the gear you got.

Wind druid is one of my favorites, its good even with minimal gear, able to do hell because double elements are built in. Plus cyclone armor is wonderful later on, helps against souls and such. One of my favorite builds - tanky, able to do hell, and cold aura is very nice.

amazing guide. I am following this right now. I don't anticipate getting enigma soon, but will just use a tele charge item until then. One thing I dont like is fissure; the hit boxes are weird so I just stick with the earlier fire skills (before respeccing to wind at 30-40)

Wind Druid with full Aldur's is maybe the most underrated starter build for a new league. It is trivially easy to get the full set even in the first days of a ladder and that full set + Spirit Monarch is all you really need to solo Hell. Because the build is naturally dual element it gets even more points from me. This is probably my #1 recommended build for starting a ladder - especially on Hardcore. If you can graduate from Aldurs to stuff like Hoto/Enigma/Shako things just get better and better. That said, particularly due to the overall low damage cap and bad frames, I feel like Enigma is always a waste on a Windy compared to a Hammerdin, Poison Necro, or even a Trapsin. Thanks for the awesome content Llama, this stuff is great even for vets of the game.

I prefer the Prayer aura merc with Insight. Something about having both health and mana constantly regenerating is satisfying (and convenient). I use much less pots this way. I only pick up full juvies as I see them and the belt stays full. Without Prayer, it's common to have to heal up between mobs, which means more time spent maintaining the belt, buying super pots, etc. Can't put a price on the convenience factor, even if you kill slightly slower with no Might on your summons. But lets be honest, the summons are meat shields first and foremost.

Ran this through Act 2 Hell without too terribly much trouble. Act 3 was rough, but manageable. Currently stuck on Act4, can't even get to Izual because Extra Fast Extra Strong mobs one shot my bear and Merc, then surround me and do the same. Or they have Mana burn and instantly leech my entire pool and I can't even teleport. Gear and resists are pretty solid, but the physical damage mobs are wrecking me. Can't afford to keep losing exp like that. Not sure how to deal with them when they surround me faster than I can teleport, even with 114% FCR. I'm also getting reeeeally frustrated with Tornado pathing. Think it's time to go back to farming with the Sorc for a while.

I built one of these and I did all fire until hell which I ran into immediate issues with fallen in the den of evil. Only then is when I respec'd. The fire build took me easily, on players 5, into hell. Maxed fissure then firestorm then volcano then Armageddon because F it and then I was maxing molten boulder also because F it. I knew I'd be respec at some point but it was so easy all the way through into hell where you really so need the wind build for the non elemental ternader. By then, I was able to completely max hurricane, tornado, get up through bear, and I maxed armor and half maxed twister. Super good spot to be at that point, and the build shined even with only what I had in single player offline

I run a 3os 3nado 2 twister pelt with 3x 7FHR 14 All Res in the helm and instead of delirium I run that and skillers for the plus to skills lossed by not running dilirium. Plus with all the plus to skills which if you are running all the build gear it's 11-13 plus to skills depending on the rings if you go plus to skills for BK or SoJ. Minus the helm if you want nado if not 15 plus to skills with a shako. Add 7 Skillers 1 Gheeds you have a pretty gnarly setup. 22 plus to skills total not counting your torch or anni. That's another +4 to skills totalling to 26 + to skills.

Cyclone armour is also important for hurricane duration, as if you dont invest enough points, you will hace to recast hurricane a lot and it will suck your mana

I was always a fan of a caster heavy, combat capable druid with some summoning. But back when I first played this I wasn't at all meta conscious so just sort of built as I went. I feel like if I ever return to it I'll try a wind druid though likely with some slight summoning modifications. I suspect I'd put a point to each of the vines and likely base 5 in the ravens, at least as I started, til my gear took over for the respec. I think I'd miss volcano, which I loved using with my wind spells back in the day, but if I were playing for long term, I think I could give it up to be optimized for long haul.

Of course it'll have server issues. Every game with an online mode to come out in the past decade has had server issues. Exactly why I'll be working on some singleplayer characters first, maybe do a holy grail (gonna be rough without plugy but I'll just do it the old fashioned way, with a lot of mules). Ladder isn't going to be live on day 1 anyway they said.

You shouldn't be dying a lot at those levels. Stick with the Fire skills and farm The Countess for the runes needed to make Leaf as it'll grant you +3 to Fire skills.

Wind druid isn't the fastest killer but he's definitely one of the safest :P once your Merc has a nice reapers toll the decrep really helps kill Baal alot faster

Suprised you never mentioned the druid hammer that gives +3 ele skills, Earth Shifter thunder maul that gives +7 ele skills and the excellent runeword Doom which also reduces enemy cold res and gives you holy freeze which is great with hurricane (can also be used in polearms for your merc if u want to run both might and holy freeze). you mention a lot of items youd only use at low levels, why not mention these ones at higher level too including stuff like nightwing helm, and the ravenlore unique? and also delirium in a druid helm, something that makes using earthshifter a bit more fun

You have to work the aiming. It's based off the Druid's right arm, from what I've been able to observe.

What you’ll realize is 75%+ builds use hoto, arach, shako, maras, nigma, spirit, Bk/Soj, Raven and water or sandstorm One reason why I’m loving PD2. The corruption allows so so much variety in builds

Lol it's not that much different. Now instead of getting a spirit and enigma, you can't sleep at night until you get a +2 lidless with socket corruption and atmas with +1 corruption. It's still the same shit for the most part, just now you have 1 or 2 more options to choose from that may or may not actually be better or worse. On the bright side, PD2 isn't going anywhere, so it'll still keep chuggin along. And VV said they're okay with adding content later (specifically they referred D2R as a live service, so that implies they're going to build on it), so hopefully we eventually have our cake and eat it too.

Have 1 summon bear, use that as a suicide bait, then spam your cyclone while they are attacking the bear Will take quite a while though, back in D2, it took me 1 hr to complete it, i did /players 8 though so thats why

Don't you mean limited gear? Thinking about switching from paladin and I'm basicly geared already. Shako can be replaced with lore that you get instantly @ nightmare and spirit is also really easy to make, and simply put you will find items along the way that have some similar stats there's no way to tell what to EXACTLY wear on the leveling process. Equip what you find :)
