@@pe.bo.5038 Yes, she conveys the pathos, sadness, and pain from being misled. She did not have clothes and makeup artists for the role, but her expressions and eyes convey hurt and sadness. It was a masterful performance. As an aside, no one singing this has her head shaved, is edentulous, and is near death from starvation. We as the audience listen to the voice, her expressions, and eyes to clue us into the situation. Lucy is totally convincing. I cried when i heard this and again at her concert when she sang it live 22 October 2024.

I, along with my wife and daughter, had the privilege of seeing Lucy in concert at the amazing Theatre Royal Drury Lane yesterday evening. What a stunning performance from Lucy in a gorgeous setting supported by a wonderful orchestra, pianist James Breck and by her sister Martha , Will Callan and Milan Van Waardenburg. I have to say that this is the first concert I've been to where the artist received a standing ovation as she walked onto the stage! If it's possible, Lucy is even more spectacular singing live than in her videos. In front of a wildly enthusiastic near full house, Lucy spoke warmly, articulately and with some humour of how much her West End debut meant to her and how grateful she was to her fans for their support over the years. She seemed genuinely humbled by the fact that she was approaching 1 million subscribers on her KZbin channel and it was clear that she was moved by all the love she received from the audience. In the first half of the show, Lucy reprised some of her biggest KZbin 'hits', including Hallelujah, which she acknowledged as her breakthrough song, Moon River and I Dreamed a Dream from Les Mis. For me, her duet with Martha on When you Believe and her rendition of Don't Cry for me Argentina, were particular highlights. Lucy seemed amused that Martha just walked off the stage after her performance rather than basking in the warm applause and standing ovation from the audience! The second half of the show was given over to songs from Lucy's forthcoming musical, Rosie with an accompanying narration by Michael Dunn. Again, Lucy demonstrated her amazing vocal abilities, bringing each song to life. These included poignant renditions of Gentle Breeze and Broken Dreams a superb duet with Will Callan on Above the Clouds and, for her finale, We Can Change the World for which they were joined on stage by Martha, Will and Milan. The rapturous standing ovations Lucy received after this finale and again after her encore, were testament to the quality of the concert in general and of her performance in particular and reflected the warm affection her fans have for this supremely gifted singer.

What is impressive is Lucy's ability to sustain a note for several counts and not have to use vibrato to keep it in pitch. Long straight tones in a song for solo performances are difficult to achieve, but Lucy is mastering the technique. Having perfect pitch is such a blessing for singers. She has it.

Lucy’s voice, performances, and obvious outer and inner beauty are beyond imagining. She is in my mind, without question, the best singer I have ever heard, and the best there has ever been. Lucy’s voice in her very early recordings was beautiful, and each successive performance provided a hint of what was to come. Now, at 20, Lucy’s voice makes me believe that she must be an angel because there is no worldly explanation for the beauty, power and majesty of her performances. I’m always tempted to say that her last performance will never be exceeded, and then she does just that. I awake each morning and check all the news feeds on my phone to see what’s been happening in the world, but not before first checking if there is a new Lucy video to enjoy. I could go on and on, but at some point words can sound empty and meaningless. So let me end by saying again, congratulations,Lucy. I wish you the best in the future, and look forward to following your continued success. I will end by saying again, that you must be an angel.

I haven’t commented on the last few Lucy performances, but it’s not because I haven’t loved them. Rather, I have almost literally run out of words to do justice to them - but I will try. I can’t speak to Lucy’s technical music skills, although I am slowly learning to understand them from following some excellent KZbin music reviewers like Your Online Singing Coach. However, I can speak to the pleasure of hearing her sing. Lucy Thomas has the most beautiful singing voice and stage presence that I’ve seen in my 78 years of life, and this is clearly supported by an obviously matching inner beauty. Her performances have a power and beauty almost beyond imagining. I can listen to any Lucy song dozens of times and each time hear something new. There is a risk of commenting on any one Lucy performance, because the next one will doubtless be even better, and you will eventually run out of superlatives. So now I’m going to put on my AirPods and, once again, lose myself in one of Lucy’s KZbin playlists.

This is a song I've never heard before, but I cannot imagine it being sung any better than this beautiful young lady just sung it.
