To break the pile up try sending your call sign in morse. If the station is a morse operator he will pick up on it...ive done it before and it sometimes works...that last qso you were trying to get into, talk about the long goodbye!..bl00dy Nora! Don't they go on!

I have been considering one of those FT891’s for mobile and portable.Was Planning on using the IC7100 but it has so much going on with cables etc that i am thinking of just leaving it in the shack.The g90 or 6100 looks ok but i think the FT891 may get more use. That antenna you’re using is working better that expected. Thanks

For the mobile the FT-891 is hard to beat ...... The menu system could be better laid out but once you get used to it , It's not bad .... The radio itself works excellent .

Hi. Many thanks for vlog. Please could you tell me how you power your FT891 in your car? Do you have a power lead fed in from the battery to a terminal? I have made a power lead up, but have yet to try to feed it through from engine compartment into car interior? Last time for FT2800, it was a bit difficult as I am getting on a bit. The cable I made up for FT891 will carry 27amp. I have tried FT891 with banana plugs into PSU at home, & it's fine. So was thinking of banana sockets in car? Kind regards. 73 de Pete GI0FZT.

Hi Pete , I've run some heavy duty power cables directly through the main rubber grommet that passed through the Bulkhead , I've taken these cables to the battery terminals directly ..... I just use a 35 amp chock block connector then to allow connection to the radios I use .... Regards de GW0WVL 👍

Watched loads of vids on this model I’m thinking of getting one but can I ask does the screen change colour also what’s the 2nd frequency under the top one is it for switching between blocks regards
@Gw0wvl Жыл бұрын
The second frequency is that it has twin VFOs and can be set to any frequency the radio covers .
