I’m a Maryland girl and Marylanders are crab snobs because we’ve had the best. I’m always leery when someone who isn’t from Maryland makes crab cakes and calls them “Maryland style”, but seeing that you’re from a neighboring state, maybe you’ve also had the best and can get it right. i was 26 years old before I started to like chitterlings. I didn't like them as a kid, but when my Mom made them family would come over that I hadn't seen all year to get some. When I was 26 at Thanksgiving dinner my aunt and her daughter, my cousin got into a fight over the chitterlings about taking some home. I said, "I must be missing something." So while they argued I snuck in and took a bowl home. Theye were delicious. But have to be piping hot. And Mom's not here anymore so I try to remember her recipe. And I don't eat crab but am going to make these for my wife. She will enjoy them. Thanks.

Same, I lived in my Baltimore, Maryland for most of my younger years & still visit my grandparents 3-4 times a year. Never heard of cilantro in a cab cake. I don't even like cilantro, so my eyes got huge when he pulled it out. I might have to substitute with dill or something 😂

I live in PA next to MD border...been making crab cakes for 50 years now and NEVER used cilantro..never will. And I don't like a lot of lemon juice in the crab batter, but I'm sure it was great with the pasta.

OMGOODNESS 💕 💕 💕 Y'all should be sealing this dish up and shipping it to me! This is my all-time FAVORITE DISH❤ I'm a Louisiana Girl, and hands down, there's nothing better than Maryland Crabcakes. I want lump meat crabcakes. I hate going to a high-end restaurant paying a bunch of money for crabcakes loaded with more fillers than actual crab meat. Thanks for the pasta tip as well. No Chitterlings for me, I've never eaten them, but my parents and siblings love them.

I have eaten chittlins, but only when my grandmother was alive. It took her days to clean, then cook them. They were delicious with her potato salad, which was delicious as well. ❤

One thing you’re gonna learn about making MD crab cakes, main ingredients are Old Bay and mayo (hellmans for me), yellow mustard (French’s), egg and parsley. Everything else is by how the person was taught how to make them. Gotta use lump but lump and back fin is ok. Very little filler, we like crab not all the bread.

It had corn and other veggies in it. Not acceptable!! Lol. I would tell them this is not a Maryland crab cake. The waiter would say, "You must be from Maryland. We get that all of the time from Marylanders" 😂

I love chittlins but I don't eat them much. It's funny that people say they don't like them but last year the prices skyrocketed!!!! Chittlins were as expensive, if not more, than crab meat. I would love to have some this year...we shall see if the prices come down.

The Maryland Crabcake Snob Phenomenon is REAL. We're born with it. I think he used too much lemon juice. Not quite enough Old Bay. The lemon pepper is not classic but im not necessarily opposed to it. Probably could have just used the Lemon Bae and left it there. It was way too much lemon juice. Also, we normally use parsley, not cilantro.

Here I will fix it for you. 1lb jumbo lump, 1 large egg, 1 cup heavy cream(no mayo), 1 cup panko, 2 tblspoon Old bay seasoning. Teaspoon hot sauce optional. Fold dry ingredients together mix wet ingredients fold wet into dry being careful not to break up crab(that part they got right). Heat butter in iron skillet on medium heat, brown crabcakes on one side then flip and put in 325 degree oven for 10 minutes. Enjoy. You can thank me later. Guaranteed the best crabcake you have ever had. ❤

He is not from Baltimore he said Maryland the true home of the crab cake is Baltimore and anyone that lives in Maryland but does not get crab cakes from Baltimore still don't understand the true meaning of the Maryland crab cake. I am born and raised in Baltimore I live in Southern Md. now but it took 2 years to find a real Maryland crab cake in my area when i moved here and the same for properly steamed crabs.Unfortunately still steering the people from out of state wrong. This is not a Maryland crab cake it's a lemon pepper crab cake over pasta. The recipe still looks good I would try it even with the cilantro.
