Muscle memory is definitely a part of it, but don't be mistaken because he certainly is thinking about it... he's playing along with the music in his head. This helps the brain and fingers sync. Technically, we cannot feel without thought, and without feel, all he will think about is "don't screw up". And we all know the usual results lol

This is truly one of the most amazing things you can hear on a guitar. I myself play classical guitar, violin, piano and various types of accordion. No instrument is easier than the other. I play march A la Turka on the piano and I certainly know how difficult it is and would never even come up with the, for my part, damned idea to give me on it for guitar. But Williams Kanengiser really plays it in an absolutely masterful way and makes all the episodes come into their own. Even the broken octaves and the most difficult of all on the piano, I think, at the end of the piece where the left hand on the piano plays in the same rhythm as the right ditto.

I think Uli Jon came up with the crazy idea to play it on guitar a decade ago, because hes armed with an extra octave to get the violin sound.

This piece of music was written originally for harpsichord or piano, but I believe that it immensely more difficult to play on the guitar. The dislikes here are from people who are musical morons and who can not appriciate classical music. I give the performance here two thumbs up. Here you have a piece, not written specifically for one handed play, being executed flawlessly by a master guitarist. Pieces such as Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca and Beethoven's Fur Elise are not easy to play on intruments not having the use of an independent left and right hand as you would on the piano or organ. William Kanengiser is truly among the best who have played the guitar regardless of genre. And speaking of great guitarists, John Williams and Gary Ryan of the U.K. are masters, as is John Feely of Ireland. Ana Vidovic of Croatia I would add among the greats, too. Two ladies from China, Meng Su and Li Jie are great guitarist as well. For jazz, check out George Benson and Earl Klugh, two greats in their own right. I know he does not play the guitar, but Lang Lang of China is an absolute genius on the piano.

The skill and mastery of the instrument that is required to play this piece on the guitar and so beautifully is at a level far beyond what even most 'masters of the guitar' can imagine. Before I saw this video I did not even think that it was possible to play the Rondo Alla Turca justifiably on the guitar. When I saw the thumbnail of this video - I was extremely curious as to how this piece can ever be played on the guitar - after watching this video I am stunned - it far exceeded my expectations. This is one of the most incredible performances (in terms of difficulty, skill, beauty) on the guitar that I have ever seen.
