This is the best elevator project ever!! I feel like I want to build this!

Doesn't feel like a year since this was completed but yet it is!

Truly awesome! I wish I had the skills to build something like this.
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Wish I could help or suggest a way to start. If you lived near me then this could be a possibility, but it's VERY time consuming!

I recall some hotel lifts in the former USSR that had floors that moved when you got in - was it to indicate there were passengers in the lift? If so for what reason?
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Load sensor. If there was someone in the lift, then it firstly kept the cab light on, and it gave the car call buttons priority over the landing calls. So if there was someone in the lift, someone on the landing couldn't press their call button before you pressed the car call button. Make sense?
@JohnPlant906 жыл бұрын
Super - I hadn't thought about the prioritisation. At the time I thought it may have gone at high speed if empty. I recall trying to ese the rails to ligt my weight off the floor! I suppose the prioritisation is now part of the sequencing.

The only thing that I'd have added (if enough outputs on the arduino), is a real bell, for the car call of the ground floor. Like old school lifts !
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, I know what you mean! I could have done that with a sound board. LazyTechNerd (Tom) has already done that, but would add more time on!
@Clement-xy9iv6 жыл бұрын
NOOO ! Not a fake one ! A real one, with a metal dome and a solenoid (I love solenoids), It would have been much easier and much better than a sound board !

I have to say this is really heart warming stuff. Its really nice that you go out of your way to do this. Also completely off opic I was wondering what kit you used on your own alarm system. Like pirs, panels, bells and tat. It wod be nice if you could consider making a video on it at some point. Again if you dont wish to do it for security reasons its fine by me (not that you need my approval anyway lol).

Hiya, thanks for the comment! For my house, I have a Galaxy Dimension, with 4 keypads (no I don't have a mansion!). Kpd1=Kitchen (flush brass one), Kpd2=Garage, Kpd3=Under stairs/low level as when Chay was small he couldn't reach the kitchen keypad!, Kpd4=Bedroom. 4x door contacts, PIR in garage is an old Spaceship dualtech!! (search "Scantronic 1084 spaceship"), then around the house I use Visonic DUO-240 ceiling detectors (prefer them to corner mounting ones). 2x internal sounders, the outside sounder is a stainless steel sounder made by CQR. Also have 4x 12v smoke detectors connected back the panel.

Crikey, sounds like an awesome system, a bit better than my accenta haha. By the way, have you heard of orisec. I have heard really good things about them and their stuff looks very nice. Unfortunately you need to set up an account but I am sure it's worth it.

Ardweenie overkill. Do it with 7400 series logic. Much more fun to finish a puzzle (Elevator logic) that way.
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
yeeeeees, and no! :) This would take an age to complete, where all I need is some 'programmable' functionality. Thanks for the comment anyway and I do hear what you're saying (like, relay logic, but with ICs instead?)

What hardware software u use buddy to be able to use custom code like that cheers and it looks wicked
@felixrwc8166 жыл бұрын
He used the arduino software to write the code.
@KIRBZVIDS6 жыл бұрын
That is cool as ,could you write code for a floor indercater Lester control type or is it literly d.i.y jobby cheers
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Anything is possible! I ran out of memory on this board but you can install an SD card to write further code. Once you understand the fundimentals, the sky is the limit!! But with any programming/coding, 1) Plan it, 2) Code it, 3) debug it, 4) soak-test it, then debug stuff that doesn't work, 5) tweak it, 6) debug the 'tweaked' bits! It's fun, but time consuming (NOT a 5 minute job!) I will eventually get around to going through the code in a new video, where I will HOPEFULLY cater for complete beginners.

One of them is for Isaac, and one of them is for James. Who will have the 3rd one?
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Currently, me! I may give it away in the future, but I have no plans yet.
@lbsiuk6 жыл бұрын
Also, do you have the code? I have an Arduino, and plenty of LEDs that I want to use. And also, I might be getting some 1970s H+C buttons that I can wire up to this.
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Hiya Leon, yes, absolutely. I'm still planning on making a video that goes through the coding line-by-line to explain how it works then give out a link so people can download it. But for you Leon, I'll email it to you :)

0:10 in the top left - You know how one of them is missing a metal indicator plate? Is that the V1 circuit design or are you not sending that one out? EDIT: NVM, answered at 1:26
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
That one is for James - I sent him the Otis panel already as Christmas Present. So his parents just need to screw the panel on the front (nut/bolt already provided :)

so the next question I have is what are you planning to do with the demo board?
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
I'm keeping it for the time-being :)
@ZZ9ProductionsOFFICIAL6 жыл бұрын
is that for any future updates or any other times in the future you may build another one? Also where did you get those OTIS indicators for the panels?
@felixrwc8166 жыл бұрын
Can anybody tell me where I can find the Arduino Code, he used for this panel?
@mrmattandmrchay6 жыл бұрын
Coming soon! I'll do a video and go through it, and leave a link to download it from somewhere.
@felixrwc8166 жыл бұрын
That would be very nice, because I am currently working on a miniature elevator, which is going to be controlled by an Arduino.
