VERY SPOOKY lift motor room hunt! (superbly edited)

I spend a lot of time editing and synchronising my videos to music to bring you entertaining and interesting videos to watch. This one is up with the best. I put in the effort for YOU, my audience. Without you, I'm nothing here.

WARNING
Do not enter abandoned buildings. Many dangers exist such as: Unsafe structures, falling from height, sharp objects, hazardous substances, entrapment, drug paraphernalia, asbestos, other 'unfriendly' persons on site. It may look fun from the camera's perspective, but 'at the time' it's not. For your own safety, please keep out.
THE COINCIDENCES
I can't believe all this - everything happened in an afternoon in the sequences listed below. Surely, this is someone setting my destiny to visit an old lift before it's demolished?
On the way out of london, I was going to buy MrChay a Mcdonald's milkshake, but after a misunderstanding, he didn't actually want one.
This lead us into the general area of this building, but coming out of McDonald's I was forced to turn left as I couldn't get into the lane to turn right due to traffic. This lead me to drive past this place. I had a look, but that was it.
I'd been home only a minute and a friend who I hadn't seen for months drove past to say hello - this guy I used to go to abandoned buildings with. This coincidental event of me just coming back from seeing one, urged me to go back and revisit the place with him.
We went there to take a look, but ended up exploring the ground floor areas. I found that there was no entrance to the 1st floor.
That night, after deliberating for hours, I concluded that I wasn't going to go back and I turned off my 5AM alarm call, but I ended up waking up at 5AM anyway WITHOUT an alarm (which is very unlike me). Being less tired, my blood started pumping and I reversed my decision.
If I'd not realised Chay didn't want a milkshake, if I'd been able to turn the right way out of McDonald's, if I'd not seen the building, if my mate didn't drive past at exactly the same time I arrived home, if it had not been him then I wouldn't have thought about going back, If we'd not surveyed the place in the daytime (so that I went prepared on the next visit), if I'd not woken up by myself instead of the alarm which I canceled... then this video wouldn't be here!

When I went to New York recently, I found a building that was still in full use that had lifts with relay logic: unfortunately, one would not be able to film inside it, as it is the state supreme court building. One could hear the relays working when one got to the top floor.

The old selenium rectifier was replaced at some stage and square silicon bridge rectifiers fitted instead. 12:21 That power resistor looks like new. Brilliant footage.

Nice video, as always. I've never seen mobile phone companies leave their infrastructure behind. Looked like an aircon in their equipment room on the bottom right. Was probably just done recently.

That was an old heater - it was probably rigged up on a thermostat to keep the oil from become too cold in winter - causes the motor to work harder. But did you see those plates on the wall by the way - probably holding up all the gear on the outside of the wall.

mrmattandmrchay if you follow the coax cable from the cell phone antennas on the roof, they come down, disappear and re-emerge near the blue door with aircon. That is classic cell base installation. Also the blue door seems out of context and handy for service vehicles. It all might be dormant now, of course.

it's quite often that, when replaying the footage I've just taken I think, DAMN if only I'd filmed this or that! On a lot of occasions I have to go back and refilm stuff that I've missed (see the 'nine floors of terror' video - went back there several times when I missed stuff). I did think about what you said, about the shaft and roof. However, it's a tall lift to it wasn't just a matter of reaching up. And to get into the shaft would have taken some time to do. This place, my torch was lighting up the building and I didn't really want to hang around, but besides. I do wonder if there was some kind of lever system (like the old russian lifts) in the lift shaft as a floor selector/direction system. Too late I guess! I'm not going back!

You lucky duck. The oldest building with an elevator in my city was built in 1976, and it’s still very much not abandoned. The next closest city is hours away. I’ll have to just live vicariously through you.

nah, it's not that - it's because it's not relevant to the video. And I'm not sure that it would be responsible of me to tell people how to get into such buildings. I mean, if some kid tried what I did by copying my video (or stuff that I say) and they were injured or killed in the process, then I'm not sure I'd sleep too well at night. I see enough stuff on youtube that can influence kids to do dangerous stuff - I don't want to be apart of anything like that.

you're crazy.. i mean there are other channels that explore abandoned buildings and structures at least ones that are not being demolished. (ones that have been forgoten) some even go far to explore abandoned nuclear power plants. (the cores are inactive in those.)

An old lift that's about to become a pile of rubble - not many left these days so it just had to be filmed. You have to chase your passions I guess. My favourite urbex channel is 'the proper people'. Not sure that there are enough channels these days that go to the time and effort that I do when I edit my movies. The Proper People videos are exceptional though!

This is one of my fav videos. My favourite part is the music when I climb the ladder. Actually, that sequence was filmed on the way down, I reversed it to make it look like I'm climbing the ladder! I always film what I come for FIRST then get all the other footage on the way back down. Then if I have to leave quickly, I have the main footage!

Thanks! The stairs did not go down to the ground floor. There was a fire exit down one end (already demolished) but the MAIN stairs to all levels were in the adjoining building which no longer exists
