The Pollastrinis (non-tomato) are by far my favorites, I'm excited for your review! I can get them at my local Italian grocery for $4.50 a can if I buy a 10 pack.

I like em a lot. Off-camera, I have eaten a few cans of Pollastrinis and they're really great. Great size for a pilchard, great flavor. Maybe they could cram one or two more fish in a can, however. Let me know if you think they're kinda loosely packed?

@@CannedFishFiles I tried them they were great could he a little more firm more smokey (still mild) than fishy wild caught and I believe it im not aware if king Oscar Is farm fish or wild caught but I get the slight taste thats closely related to the smell of an aquarium but never-mind all that we are talking Baltic golds they could be a little firmer and have a olive oil and I think It would be a 10/10 but I'd say they are a solid 8/10 for me you can see what your buying too like they aren't hiding anything which I liked you should try them let I think you'll enjoy them

I ran across some Roland brand sardines at the local liquor store (that also has some “gourmet” foods aka “bar food”) & they had some sardines that I’ve never even heard of before, Roland brand. Have you heard of them? I was thinking about sending you some if you’d do a review of them? If so, do you have a PO Box I could send them to?

I have seen Roland online but I haven't tried them. I may review them in the future, but probably not too soon as I have a large cupboard full of cans waiting to be reviewed! Thanks though.

@@CannedFishFiles I don’t expect them to be very good because they’re only $2-$4 but I’m curious to know how bad they are. Not that sardines can really be THAT bad but you know what I mean…. How “not good” they are. You & Slow Jabroni seem to be game for trying anything. You DID eat squid in ink before! I really like watching your videos because you’re always such a good sport about it & seem to be happy with everything. A good attitude to have in life.

@@runesmom1 Thanks, I try not to make a video about something with no redeeming value. And I don't think I would ever give bad press to a small business. I think there are no excuses for a bad can above $3. I frequently enjoy cans that are $7 and above, but it's the job of the $3 cans to ensure there are deeply diminishing returns with greater price!

@@CannedFishFiles Absolutely! Everything has a value & just because a higher price tag is slapped on doesn’t mean that lower price tags are less valuable, they’re just different. A lot of people don’t really “get” why sardines are priced so high with some brands when the $3 can is just perfect for them so in that sense everything HAS a valuable asset to offer. I like the way you approach life. Have a great new year!

I believe there are a couple of reasons for the cod preparation. First off, coating the fish in crumbs and frying it gives the sauce something to cling to. Second, is a traditional recipe, and that's how it's done.
