You are not insane, its a choice, i bet that you are using it to do work like working in 3d software like blender or 3ds max with some tropical program like d5 render, or using it for video. I got the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX Hexadeca-Core-Prozessor 4090 GTX Duo 16 version of this and it is insane. I'm using it for Blender, Unreal 5, zbrush and video editing, and the dual screens makes it a dream machine. I'm basicly making a game with this laptop.

the good news is, after a year this laptop has been released, ASUS has provide beta bios for enabling USB4 40GBPS capability. I hope you can test that bios and connect your tb3 peripheral since tb3 or tb4 are also compatible with USB4.

I was planning to buy the 4090 RTX 2023 version but have been told that 3080Ti is better. I’m getting a deal of 3600$ with 64gb of RAM, 16GB of 3080, 2TB SSD, and AMD Processor. In terms of excess heat generated by the former, the new 4090 model is not meant to handle high graphics and as a result the performance drops with frame lags due to overheating. Whereas the 3080Ti has a more efficient balanced cooling system that is aimed at desktop level GPU and has lesser complaints so far. The chassis and coil gives up in the 4090 systems and we've been hearing issues of backlight bleeding due to the same. What would you recommend?

great review, I have the same laptop but only with a 4k display. I saw both versions of the display and 4k turned out to be the best choice for me for 2 reasons: 1) since I plan not only play but also work on a laptop, a higher resolution will be more useful. 2) bottom display also has a resolution of 4k and if you stretch or drag windows to two displays at once, it looks the same, but and in the case of a QHD display, the windows will be different sizes

I found a workaround for this issue. In the AMD app, just turn on super resolution and you can operate with your main display thinking it’s 4k.

I just ordered this from amazon only to find out a better one was on new egg for the same price so returning that one as soon as I get it. Im actually planning on replacing my desktop with this since been traveling more. snagged a ryzen 9 rtx 3070ti 1 tb ssd and 32 gb ram for 2k which to me feels like a steal price for that machine.

nice work, go to your armoury crate then Aura Sync for RGB customisation. ASUS's Aura sync is very feature-heavy and robust try YouTubing on how it works. I am still baffled why the DUO 16 still don't have lighting on F-Keys. I had to colour code my F5 and F11 so i don't get confused. The best setting to run is Silent and when playing games, make sure your WHISPER MODE 2.0 is turned off in Geforce Experience. This doesn't take much of a toll on performance when gaming and prioritises GPU over CPU load. it makes everything super quite

This laptop now has almsot 50% off deals. It is a sham the ryzen does make this perform 1000-2000 3dmark points less than the 3080ti i9 or Ryzen 9800+ setups. I am currently considering the 3080 ti Deal duo 16.

I've seen every video on this laptop multiple times.. this one is hands down the best and most entertaining! Amazing job, fantastic humour. My main concern is the size.. looking closely but still not so sure. I need this to be proper portable so I can work on the go. I'm coming off a Alienware R13 R3 that's pretty heavy, think and chunky, but been happy to carry it everywhere for ages.. how does this compare, will it be alot worse? Thanks! For the size, it is of course a bit bigger since it is a 16 inch laptop, but I don’t think it’s too much of a difference since the older Alienware’s had bigger bezels. The weight should feel about the same too.

I would like to see the relation between temperature, fps of the game and the fan speeds/noise. Also is it possible to undervolt an AMD CPU? And what would the performance of temperatures be with both CPU and GPU undervolted. Storage and ram doesn't really matter, you can upgrade the storage and the ram yourself I believe. And Asus is also in the middle of pushing out 40 series gpu's in them. I would save for that and upgrade the storage yourself if necessary.

100% DCI-P3 in SDR mode, that’s all I know so far. I didn’t really buy this for content creation so I didn’t go into that aspect very well. Personally I’m sticking to Apple for anything involving content creation. Doing this video solidified that, I hate using Premiere.
