"To tie the knot". literally means "amarrar el nudo" in Spanish. But colloquially it means "echar el lazo matrimonial" in Spanish.

@fredylopez2477 28 күн бұрын
@@ArtemHahauz-nm7bk "FURIOUS" is the only synonym, therefore the only remarkable alternative. AND "aggressive" and "belligerent" are synonyms BUT they have a different meaning, I mean, they're NOT synonyms for "furious or irate". - Aggressive and Belligerent" have a completely different meaning. (you can check it out in a dictionary if you want to). # the spelling of aggressive is double "g" and "s".

I'm Indian and learnex is also a famous and an oldest indian KZbin channel,on this channel many different teachers teach English but I can't believe that despite being an expert English teacher they don't even know that "pissed off" is too informal, to be accepted in advanced English and they're recommending us using as an advance alternative to the word "angry" Lol😂😂😂😂 "Pissed off" Sounds cool but it ain't advanced
@Andrew21219
@Andrew21219 28 күн бұрын
Don't say "they're recommending us using". Instead, "they're recommending using" or "they recommend using." Or "They recommend that we use it."

-"He got irate when he realized that I had gone out with that guy," She smiled. -"Mom, I'm super starving; can you grab something to eat?" he asked. -"They've recently tied the knot, haven't they?" he giggled like a six-year-old boy. -"Sir, I don't want you to fly off the handle; I just have some unsatisfying news," he glanced. -"As the truth had become obvious, my dreams smashed to smithereens!" Thank you so much! I would really like to see more videos like this! Regards from Ukraine!

@fredylopez2477
@fredylopez2477 27 күн бұрын
"Livid" means furiously angry, and I think both words can be used interchangeably (livid and irate) BUT I think they're used only formally, I mean in formal texts, we usually hear the terms like; angry, mad when it comes to adjectives. # when it comes to verbs, we hear: get mad or get angry.
