this is the story that really got me to liking Poe a lot more. And i love this calm voice this person has cause it builds on to the effect.

I know someone who has this memorized, and by the way he tells it you would think he had written it himself! He's amazing at storytelling, and isn't even out of high school

Is story is based off of a real man. He was adopted as a small child and let into a nice mans home. The old man had a fake eye more like a cats eye then anything else and that is what disturbed the child into killing the old man

+Alexdrena Herondale Maybe I've just been exposed to a lot of creepy stuff or maybe it's because I saw the animated portrayal first, but this wasn't that creepy for me. To each his own, of course. Wonderful story, nonetheless.
@aaryannasmith36309 жыл бұрын
Terrible Tallrus well now that I have gotten older I don't think it's creepy @ all now
@terribletallrus65209 жыл бұрын
+Alexdrena Herondale I feel ya, man. Like Courage the Cowardly Dog, for example. That show was the shit in terms of the scare factor when I was younger. Now it's more entertaining than anything. Still a weird (but awesome) show, even when I watch it now. :)

It's "The Tell-Tale Heart."
@angora22678 жыл бұрын
+Autodidact2 But actually no one cares if you put a "-" between the words Tell and Tale because its not literally incorrect not to do so. Correct me if I'm wrong and I will take it with dignity.
@autodidact24998 жыл бұрын
+alice bunbun Because it's an adjectival phrase, and it makes no sense without the damn hyphen! You can also spell it "telltale," if you wish. Otherwise you will have to explain how "tell" is modifying "heart". tell·tale ˈtelˌtāl/ adjective adjective: tell-tale 1. revealing, indicating, or betraying something. "the telltale bulge of a concealed weapon" synonyms:revealing, revelatory, suggestive, meaningful, significant, meaning; informalgiveaway "the telltale blush on her face" noun noun: tell-tale 1. a person, especially a child, who reports others' wrongdoings or reveals their secrets. synonyms:revealing, revelatory, suggestive, meaningful, significant, meaning; informalgiveaway "the telltale blush on her face" 2. a device or object that automatically gives a visual indication of the state or presence of something.

Ah I see. It's not like I majored in literature or anything, so my correction was easily invalid.

I hate this reading, he a monotone voice and it isn't in the spirit of the story. This story needs to to be read dramatically.
@dakotaward4657 жыл бұрын
What the hell do you expect? Its Edgar Allan Poe...
@spellicupnigga59037 жыл бұрын
Dakota Ward I'm saying that the reader didn't get INTO it like he should have, the narrator is an insane man completely out of his gourd, and so it should be read like someone who is wacky and out of their gourd, not emotionless.
@dakotaward4657 жыл бұрын
Spell icup nigga But it is through the mind of the narrator, and in his mind, he is completely normal, and he has done no wrong. Note that the perspective of the writing is as is he is writing a letter. Now if the story were to be from a 3rd person perspective, only then may he sound truly insane.

This is the worst reading of this story that I have ever heard. Why does the narrator CHUCKLE at the climax, when you is supposed to be shrieking in rage and anguish?
