I think the value of ancestral is exclusively tied to the Tumeken's Shadow. Full ancestral has multiple max hits over full Virtus with the Shadow. I think the value of virtus will be tied to pkers, mid gamers, and barraging.

Yupppp agreed. I sold my ancestral off for virtus because I lack shadow. Freed up 250m in the bank by doing this. Not to mention virtus is now bis at inferno (unless I’m missing something and people are using shadow in inferno now lol)

its not just because of the shadow, its powered staves in general. sang and toxic trident are probably used even more than the shadow and ancestral helps them more.

I didn't know that BGS did not reduce his defence. It seemed to me that any kill where it hit big with it went a lot smoother but I guess I was mistaken. IF you have any other advice for me to make the 1,000 grind easier please respond to this comment! Thank you!

Since his defense lowers with his HP that could explain why it felt better. BGS can hit big being a godsword, so you start with lower defense after the BGS hit.

A few tips from my like 75 kills, don't play on full screen it makes it that much harder to switch your prayers quick and maneuver since the boss has a tiny hitbox and it's easy to miss, the Ring of suffering recoil effect is huge here, and always save your spec for the enrage phase , i.e D.claws, ancient godsword , crystal hally heck even a dds if you got no other options. another decent one is making your thralls invisible with an outline, helps when the head pops up from under you or a few tiles next to you. (Oh and the head ranged dart starts popping up at 80% hp)

You want a dmg spec wep to use at the last 20% or so, he loses def but gains dmg as he loses hp

I think the price has gone through the roof, but I've seen Ancient GS being pretty effective here. So long as you hit over 0 you'll get guarenteed 25 heal + 25 dmg to Vard. Supposedly against the SGS it's better as you'd have to hit 50+ with the spec to heal that much with it! (Unless you're losing a lot of prayer)

got my vestige yesterday morning at 740 kc, wall sitting is nice for spikes but if you stand on any tile that is 2 tiles away from the center diagonally you're only 2 running ticks away from a safe spot regardless of axe pattern which i found to be more helpful for me personally. also enabling shift-click through enemies in Runelite to click through Vard during spikes paired with using top-down camera was a life saver on more than one occasion and makes it easier to react/take in information. to dodge spikes easily you can just move to an adjacent tile (non-diagonal) for a tick or two then move back early in the fight, or move twice later in the fight then back. after i started using this method i died far less because getting hit by a spike usually doesn't spiral out of control like getting hit by 2 axes and bleeding a lot of hp. hope this helps somebody in their ultor grind!

Regarding the other comments, Virtus is a shared drop from all 4 bosses while ancestral is exclusively a rare drop from CoX so it does makes. Makes sense that a raid unique is more valuable than a multiboss unique

I'm pretty sure shadow one gonna be op at levi for the -def it does to the enemy when you use a shadow spell. Try to remember that when you farm levi!!!

From “I got lucky” to “I tried” I could feel the pain immediately LOL. Also to add, the BGS is quite unnecessary at ole Vardy, you’ll get a lot more mileage out of claws/Voidwaker. Or you could use the Ancient godsword to extend trips. As well, Virtus just isn’t BIS, unless ur pk’ing which isn’t gonna help it’s price much. For end game players, unless ur going 200m slayer/grinding imbued heart col log slot ur never using it.

Idea for a 1000 kill video is Zogre/Skore and taking the key they drop and opening their coffins. they can give some great prayer exp drops. but it isnt anything too exciting but could be a fun video for the ironman

If you ever kill him again, blood fury is for multiple kill trips, if not, bring torture, ando dont spec him with the fang because the fang has its spec stab based so the accuracy is eay lower than a normal attack

I get 3 kills and trip and also use claws at the end of the fight when he’s enraged. You can quite easily axe skip and as long as you don’t forget to prayer flick to pray range when the eye pops up you shouldn’t take much damage

I finished the quest yesterday. Decided to start with Vardorvis out of the 4. Having a damage increasing spec weapon for enraged phase is a big deal. He’s definitely tough, but a fight that’ll help your pvm skills

I bring ancient godsword for its nice damage/healing special attack can normally get between 3-5 kill trips. Hope this helps!

To make axes more visible, use a runelite pluggin called 'better npc highlights' and in that, go to the true tile tab, and click enable at the top of the true tile menu, and set the ID's to 12225 and 12227 to highlight the axes.

My assumption when they announced the robes is that they would be a relatively common rare, which would be reflected in the price and I think this guess is panning out. Right now pkers tend to use the ahrim robes, and in general there aren't very many options for magic armor in osrs, so the team must have wanted to add a new set that players would find accessible.

I am a pker, i can say the reason virtus is cheaper then ancestral and going down is because the only time there better then ancestral is in the wilderness, so put that into perspective not many people are gonna be buying them to bring them into deep wild pking. the 12% damage boost works with ancient spells. u do get 1% per peice with all spells including staves which is trident and sang staff but 1 peice of ancestral is 2% per peice. so if i had to guess they will drop all the way to the point of a bit more expinsive then ahrims robes in the end, because ahrims is primarly used in wilderness aswell. great video keep up the content!

If you don't have claws/voidwaker I recommend SGS for heals and pray. When you get a restock drop you can do 4/5 kc trip

@@frogdeity For Duke you literally just flinch him, he hits on a 5 tick cycle until he's down to 1/4 HP, 4 tick after that. After a while, he will either use the eye special, hide behind the pillar, or the gas special, run to the other side. He never does the same special twice. It's braindead...

Damage is king. Full virtus will be 50m in a week. Ancestral damage bonus is huge when paired with tum shadow.

You're probably right but I'm with no sleep on this. I think the set is being slept on. I know venator bow didn't move from it's release price for a while. Seemed like the market figured it out in a few days. I can't afford full ancestral so virtus robes will do for now but I think it'll be good!

Learn to axe skip. I went from 1 kill trips to 7 kill trips. Also right click vardorvis before the captcha and click attack to get an extra attack in. With no thralls I’m getting maybe 1:40 kill times on average

BGS does not work on Vardorvis. Also, fang spec uses STAB by default so specing with the fang will be very inaccurate on this boss. I Reccomend a voidwaker or ZGS or CLAWS.

it isnt going to be bis in any situation where you would use a sang staff or shadow. pretty much good where you would only barrage such as slayer or first cape infernos since you dont take mage gear on task. im sure there are going to be more applications but like for tob since you freeze at maiden it seems like it would be nice but losing the max hits from the sang for nylo waves makes it not worth it to bring instead of ancestral.

With that fact in mind, and the fact that virtus is more obtainable then ancestral pieces we knew it was going to be lower price. Devs have confirmed that virtus was meant more to be a stepping stone between ahrims>ancestral.

Yeah Virtus is only good when you use ancient magiks with it, I think with ancestral you can barrage a 42 on players but with Virtus it's 44. It's def a PVP outfit for sure
