Thanks GP Was thinking of welding some sharp tooth on the ripper to cut the roots. Just got mi self a ripper tooth action again for next weekend a spruce hedge to remove.Have a nice week mi friend.

ripper held up nice. those apple trees can have some nasty tap roots. hard to rip them out when they go straight down like that.

Yes and we didn't wont to dig to deep after it would have compacted later on would have made a hole.

@@Don.E.63 300 hrs. I've tightened a few bolts. It's been a pitbull for dragging logs out of the woods. I used it to build a log cabin.

Great ripper and BH action, Serge. Did the ripper plate require the teeth be removed on the BH? Nice ripping action. I just purchased a sub-soiler that I will use later down the road to remove some roots so I'll make a video on that. Right now, I'm focusing all my time getting debris off the ground from the hurricane and then I'll be set to do some real chores. Thumbs up and great work with the ripper. Enjoyed the entire video.

I Don , thanks. Yes I unbolt the teeth and bolt on the ripper.Love the set up of having the ripper on the bucket and be able to dig as well as to use the ripper so I don't have to change it all the time.I'm thinking of making mi self a screening bucket.Have a nice week.

Although this ripper tooth is a great tool using it for tree roots isnt a job for this type tool. Riping rock and hard pack clay is what this tool is best at. I dont recall the name of the teeth but they ard approximately 6 or 8 inches long they are excellent for digging roots and stumps.

I'm sorry but a ripper is a ripper some company only give them big name like "SABRE TOOTH STUMP & ROOT RIPPER" and added some tooth on it. I'm thinking of adding some tooth on mine.

@@MRnounoursSQ the teeth i am referring too bolt on to the bucket like rock teeth but they flare out into two sharp points kinda like a forked tongue. Just dont remember what they are called as i have a terrible memory with names.

I think I know what you mean I seen them. but I prefer digging 1/2 an inch then 12 inch to dig root all the digging force is all concentrate on 1/2 an inch.

@@MRnounoursSQ as i said that is good for rock and hard pack clay. But increases time and work when trying to remove roots. Tractor time with Tim has a really good video that demonstrates the difference using both types of tools. My personal experience is with heavy equipment have not had much experience with sub compact. But i am familiar with large rippers and understand there purpose.

To save a lot of time go buy a big backhoe.I could have been done in one swipe.these little backhoes are great for soft ground and little work.you can build a ripper that goes on the bucket linkages.And still use the bucket to dig with.
