Hello, and thanks for this video. I have already purchased the 14 Day Filmmaker course, it's wonderful with a TON of useful information. Sometimes, I think too much for my video goals. That said, going through the course has given me the confidence to change that statement. So much useful information I'm still shocked i spent less than $50 on it. Pro res will give you the highest quality but the file sizes are huge so you just need to make the decision based on what you’re filming. For KZbin content I leave it on. But for silly home videos or just random things I turn it off

In regards to file size, I have 4k - 24fps videos exported at 1080p that are only about 18 seconds in length but are well over 100+MB. Would this be solely due to their length? Many thanks!

Yeah you can lower the mbps setting on export to bring it down under 100mb file size

Thank you for this! Fellow NH native here, started a you tube channel and this is very helpful. Do your same rules of downgrading footage apply to you tube? I heard somewhere that YT uses a different compression software for 4k getting you a better picture

Should i do Record at 4k 30 or 4k 60 ? Few Points : 1) In my area the avg temp is around 35-36° (India) 2) I always put my iphone in a silicone case 3) I shoot mainly talking head tech videos for around 25-30 min *My main concern is about extreme battery health degradation if i shoot at 4k so what should i shoot at ??*

For talking head you don’t need slow motion which is the only reason to shoot in frame rates above 30. So just stick to 4K 30

If the videos I shoot with my iPhone15 do not show a thumbnail (only stock icon image) within my folders on my laptop, is that because they are shot at too high of quality? This never happened with my old iPhone10 and I need to be able to sort easily. Having no thumbnails makes it impossible!
