I remember downloading this from Ferrari's website in 2000 and watching it on Quicktime. Took probably two hours to download

Back in 1999 I drove a brand new one of these from London to the factory in Maranello via France & Switzerland & Then back to London via Monaco. It was fantastic.

I still think it is the most beautiful car I've ever seen. That is the original 456 GT, not the modified (M) version.

If I win the powerball tonight I will have Ferrari rebuild me a 456 GT just like the original, but with a more modern interior and the same engine as the F12 Berlinetta. Don't care if it will cost a million dollars. Lol.

There should be more mecanics documentary on public television .. we use things everyday and don't even know the mindblowing complexity of those things

along with the 550 Maranello the last beautiful Ferrari ( in my Opinion)
@RobertSmith-le8wp3 жыл бұрын
The 355 is up there. I never cared for the 360/430 but I think the 458 is a beautiful car. They went downhill with the 488/F8. I agree about the 550. They went downhill with the 599/F12/812. Not to mention the manual only in the 550. I’ve only ever driven 2 Ferrari’s ever, the 360 F1 and a 430 manual. The F1 is the worst transmission I’ve ever used, I absolutely hated it

Grant Touring gets no better if you like a car with fairly modern power but much more man + machine experience than you can get from anything made today. And I do agree with David E Davis - everyone should own a V12 once in their life...

The 456MGT does not have active aero. Only the 456GT.

sublime car, just honestly using timing belts on such a grade of machine rather than chains is pure maintenance slagging. For shame.
@Freddanrocco4 ай бұрын
Not too much work to do yourself. I’ve done it twice. No engine out or any of that nonsense. The last set of belts had been in there for almost 10 years and no signs of any wear or cracks. Originally the interval was three years but Ferrari changed it to five years.

Where is the part when the windows don't fit and you have to pay $$$$ to get them aliened properly?
@Sum_Ting_Wong4 жыл бұрын
that happens a few years down the line, when the rest of it starts breaking down too
@zumwild4 жыл бұрын
@@Sum_Ting_Wong Engine/driveland parts are cheap and plentiful. Kits to properly fix the windows £100. Bodywork parts are expensive though. Brake light £1000 etc. Just don't crash.

The 456 is a hand-built exotic manufactured in very small numbers - less than 3,300 over 11 years. Compare this to the 458 where they built nearly 25,000 in seven years. On a car of this type not every component can be put through extended durability testing; it’s simply not financially viable. If you want Toyota reliability, buy a Toyota. If you want a 12-cylinder Ferrari experience at the lowest price available today, the 456 will provide it, but you have to expect higher maintenance and repair costs.

Had mine for over 10 years with zero issues. Well one issue, a friend drove away with the parking brake engaged so there was some attention needed there.
