Listening to this makes my heart ache, it's so relevant to everything happening in my life. It hurts so badly being in love with someone who will probably never feel the same. This song describes exactly how I feel, it's just all the things I wish would happen between me and that one person. But I know it never will, this song is the sad truth that love and falling for someone can be so painful. It's impossible to get over someone you've loved for so long, it's impossible to let go of the memories you still hold freshly in your mind. When that person probably doesn't even lose sleep over you, not to mention you was probably just nothing in the first place. It's a heart-wrenching pain. This song expresses exactly that; including the emotion and sadness this song fills me with, I really do wish love was easy, and that person would feel the same.

Seeing this come up on Netflix was a gift. I used to listen to the whole album when it came out and this song in particular. I was in so much pain back then, deeply neglected by my dad and I used to relate to the lyrics so much. Right now I'm in my kitchen crying my eyes out with this on loop. I've been listening to this song for a couple of years now, and I've seen a lot of comments here written by broken-hearted people. I was broken too. And this song describes exactly how I felt in the friendzone back then. I felt the urge to sing this song to him, to make him understand how I felt. And, fortunately, he was beside me. So I cried and told him everything. He kissed me. He didn't know what he was doing, he wasnt in love with me then. It just suddenly felt right. We've been together for almost two years now and we've never been happier. I'm writing this because I know that there are many people out there, who wish to be with someone. I just wanted to say it can work if you try. Just be brave and tell him/her what you feel. If you're afraid of losing your friendship - don't be. If he/she really IS your friend, he/she will stay. +gina x Who's to say this song is about unrequited love? There are other situations that could lead to this song. I fell in love a couple years ago, and it wasn't unrequited. Yet this song perfectly encapsulates the situation for me. It didn't work out not because he didn't return my feelings, but because I couldn't be open with him about them. Our relationship broke under the strain of lack of communication. I think that's what makes this song so beautiful...the emotions, wants, & needs it communicates can be adapted into many different situations that all found the same end destination.
