In this video I show how to compute and make an interactive plot of the electric field for any 1 dimensional charge configuration in python. Sympy is used for all symbolic mathematics, so no pencil or paper are required.
All code from this video can be found here:

I recently got into the whole electrodynamics topic because I think it's very interesting and what I also wanted to do is model different fields etc. Thank you for showing how to do it. Greetings from Germany!

Cannot put into words how much this helped me, I used it to visualize the electric field of a set of point charges. Thank you so much!!

Thanks a lot for this channel man! Physics is fun again! I'm at the end of my physics course and realized that for passing the exams i shouldn't spend too much time playing with stuff and do the things the professor told me to do ... But at least i can come here from time to time to play with the stuff you show ... Thanks!

Great video as always, I only would like to point out that the github page seems it does not render the latex formulas when instead copying and compile (the latex formulas) outside: inside my Jupiter, they are displayed no problems!

Hi, your video is helpful. but maybe there is a little mistake in your code based on my knowledge. you didn't make the reciprocal of the integration to get the lambda (charge density). about 9:45 in video

Thanks for the very nice tutorial and files on Github. To me it seems there is a fig.show() missing after the HTML part. Otherwise I don'T see anything in the figure area.

All the codes are getting executed, but there is a problem with the last part. There are no errors in the code, but there is no output too. I don't know why there isn't any output.

I had the same issue. It displays in Juptyer Lab but not in Jupyter Notebook. Not sure why that is though...

1. At the end you say "we'll look at 2d/3d electric fields in the future" do you mean charge distributions? Anyway, id love to see the real field of capacitor plates with the fringing fields at the boundaries 2. Can you next time visualize the vector field using streamlines instead of cones or arrows? I find the cone graph to be a little cluttered and when you zoom out they look like a bunch of points in space and you can't really see the cool geometry of the field lines

Thanks for your video! At 9:45 I think you've missed to take the inverse. The line charge should be less than 1 if the overall charge equals one.

Have you considered/tried to use Altair, Bokeh, or Bloomberg’s (yes, that Bloomberg) bqplot?? I imagine bokeh and Altair would do the trick, especially if you want it to be interactive and animated.

Do you plan on making a Discord Server for questions etc.?

I'm currently in the process of thinking about the best way to do this! A discord server is certainly something that may be coming soon.

@@MrPSolver I'd suggest you to make different categories for example text general and general voice chat. Then a category for coding e.g. a channel for showing what people have coded, troubleshooting etc. And a physics category would also be cool where people talk about physics(questions, answers, discussions etc.)

Hi Thanks for the video. I have tried the code everything works fine but it just dont show up any graph. My notebook just work with simple graphs but 3D like u did doesnt create anythong except blank figure...

Hello..I am a PhD student in physics from Iraq..I hope you can help me find codes in the Python program to study the Fe(II)particle (ising model 2D)to determine the spin crossover of the electrons and find the energy..with many thanks to you.
