It's frustrating to see a podcast invite an amazing guest like Lord Jamar, only to constantly overshadow him with the host's own commentary. We tuned in to hear his insights and experiences, not the host's monologues. Please, give your guests the spotlight they deserve!

I agree, that's why you don't come back for a second listen with another guest.

You know what guys? Lord J is damn right, case in point; check out a track called “Seen it all” by Screwball, produced by Dj Premier……. That’s a proper masculine tale told to masculine a audience. Loadz of tracks were and have sort of been like that throughout time. OG has a point🤔

The reason for the gap between the young folks and the ogs is because the young folks dont shut up. You all have an OG right here and are not letting him talk. Dont ask an OG what happened to the OGs if you are actively pushing one away.

The problem with these podcasts are they don't want the guest to shine. This was a horrible show let alone they would interrupt LJ and at moments at he would be sitting there. I stopped watching it 20 minutes into the show. That happens alot with Charleston White too..

Claudette Colvin is her name. In fact it was her case that led to the desegregation in the state of Alabama. But to give it context, the NAACP didn't have a ton of funds to fight these civil rights cases in the court. Losses in court could put countless lives in jeopardy. And in a Jim Crow era where the courts were run by white supremacist, you had to run a tight ship. And in that time there was still a strong negative stigma attached to a widowed woman. So yes there were politics but the circumstances and climate surrounding these events and moments play a role in how it played out. These local black histories need more visiblity because IMO it would show that the Civil Rights Movement had been fought and going on since Reconstruction not at the apex of the 1960s. This was a 100 year long (and still going) struggle. But without struggle there is no progres.

The real question is why is JZ always the standard for whenever anybody is talking about lyrical skill? Lets be clear, the standard for lyrical ability in our culture should be Nas!! Oh i get it, jz is a billionaire so that automatically makes him more lyrically talented than everybody else. This is the mentally of the hip hop culture!!

That was a lovely breakdown of how Nicki Minaj is probably dealing with the other female rappers. Thank you for that breakdown. I was just cursing her out before you said that because I thought she just doesn't like women. Any woman is a threat to her and it shows insecurity.
