Sorry It took me to so long to find and digitize Part One in my buried VHS piles.
Many in the guitar world know the name D'Aquisto, however, I don't know how many might have a clue as to what a humble genius Jimmy was. The responses to the Part Two snippet I put up in 2015 come from all over the world as well as family members and old friends of his.
This documentary was broadcast on a Long Island Public TV Station and someone was kind enough to make a copy and send it to me long ago. The credits go to everyone that took the time to make it and are listed in the titles. They had the savvy to catch a glimpse of a legendary maestro. Now you have it. Another glimpse.
Guitar making on this level is much more than craft. It's a fight with nature, and you need everything a fighter needs: conditioning, physical and psychological strength and focus. The wood wants to be a tree again. Great sculptors and artists just hang in and do the work. Statues and paintings have to look good, great handcarved musical instruments also have to be played and heard on the road to glory. You did it James and John.
