i love mr robot but the camera angle thing you're talking about can be a bit of a schtick. as the other guy said it isn't a competition, yet i suggest viewing the UK version of Utopia.. it's no exaggeration that nearly EVERY shot in that makes for a good screensaver. any fan of mr robot ought enjoy that series :)

This show is more educational than entertaining for me The metadata part is a good thing to mention.. yet some people are still not aware that any kind of website can get so much information on them... we see more awareness about medical stuff which is important yes but everything about privacy is being obstructed everywhere since it makes bulkton of profit too.. an early industry that has already been exploited and will keep being exploited forever..

Camera model and phone name yes, but usually the location information is a) stripped on the client (without it being even sent to the server) or b) location information isn't even put into the picture. I actually tested that i took a pic with my phone and it didn't contain location information. I put on an sd card in my phond and then i moved that picture to my computer and then used exiftool and exif commands on ubuntu and it did not find the location, so i think that you actually need to turn on location metadata manually. By default it is off.

I believe it depends on phone model. Most social media platforms convert files to jpeg to save space, but I've noticed that at least with Twitter and perhaps other social media platforms the exif data, at least some of it, is retained. Regardless if you're able to recover the SSID of the device you can use tools like WiGLE to track down where that device has been given it has connected to WiFi at some point and been recorded in the database. All you really need to know is the general area of the device along with which time period the device was connected, which should be relatively easy to determine.

The show runs in 2015, and that season is from 2017. Back then facebook and instagram (not sure if Twitter too) had all that meta information inside the code of the uploaded photo. Currently they have minimized the amount of info they ask for to just time, region, and phone tipe. Localization and other stuff are no longer required.
