I already see a lot of new subscribers, so welcome all of you!! ❤ One thing I want to make clear because I've seen some people misunderstanding: the game being always online doesn't *necessarily* mean that you can't pause it in either solo or co-op. Rather, it just makes it less likely in conjunction with the change Treyarch have had to make to a new engine. This is why I listed solo pause and co-op pause as worries which I want to see communication from Treyarch about (to assuage our concerns), but the *much* bigger, and less easy to tackle problem, is the fact that the zombies community NEEDS a Local Play option to properly thrive. This is the biggest concern of all raised in this video, and I hope Treyarch takes the feedback on board that no Local Play will really hurt the playerbase!

My least favorite thing about modern gaming nowadays is the lack of Couch Co-op, with the insistence on Online-only Co-Op. Playing with a buddy or multiple buddies in the same room is a tranquil experience that every gamer needs to feel. Literally nothing better than playing some Halo, Call of Duty, Borderlands, Gears of War, Minecraft, or any Couch Co-Op game with a friend or 2 or 3.

One of the most imporatant things about the dashboarding aspect is that if you were to crash or disconnect you would keep your gobblegums. Now I'm under the impression that system will probably go away as well. So I guess if you use a perkaholic on an EE run and the servers decide to go down or your internet gets a bit dodgy it's boohoo for you. Which is even more worrying to hear when you realize that the server stability looks like its going to be fairly bad.

Milo has been spot on about the reuse of assets in zombies maps. The literal soul of zombies was based off the ‘sci-fi’ direction of the narrative, location and or historical events. That point has really hit home for me. It’s definitely become blended to Warzone/ multiplayer more recently and make it more bland. Spot on there Milo.

Just a few years ago my family didn’t have Wi-Fi so whenever I needed to update/download a game I’d need to go to my grandparents house to do so. When I was at home I would just replay cod campaigns over and over, play against bots, and play zombies with my brother. I have Wi-Fi now but it’s sad to hear that people that are in the same situation I was in now have an inability to play the latest cod if their family can’t afford Wi-Fi. I really hope cod can find a way to optimize the game and make it more offline accessible.

I especially liked cold war because I got modern warfare 2019 just prior to cold war, grinded it for a few. Loved the hell out of the fast but still considerably slow gameplay in multiplayer, the campaign was short but still fun and interesting. But they didn't have zombies, cold war had the same system and zombies, it was pretty much a good game, I just wish they knew when to stop because now we have annoying ass game launcher hub where you can, for some reason have an option to launch all cod games since MW(2019) knowing damn well people only have one cod installed at a time, if that.

When Kevin Drew said "Treyarch cares about the legacy of zombies" I rolled my eyes, chuckled and said in my head "yea right lol" if they really cared they would address the issues Milo is stating its honestly sad to see the state of zombies is in as a shell of its former self, I checked out of zombies once BO4 ended and Cold War had potential but ultimately turned me off bc the story was bland, you played as operators, and the hud was atrocious, I get that zombies was always a side mode but atleast back in BO3 we would get feedback and there was some sort of communication with devs it had passion and soul into it, now it feels like the mode is an after thought for them and they could care less about a community that has been passionate about a side mode for over a decade, and we've proved our passion when zombies chronicles was the best selling COD DLC when it came out, a DLC that was content exclusively for zombies.

Literally every single game (not just CoD) with online service will have a little note somewhere that says the publisher has the right to take down online servers at any time. Even then, Call of Duty 3 servers are still up, which has next to no population. PC servers for some CoD games are hacked so badly that it can actually harm your PC. Official zombies maps shouldn't ever feel like a "custom" map. That's not to diss custom map creators, but there shouldn't be a confusion between what is official content and what isn't. Ported campaign maps and multiplayer maps past black ops 1 should never have happened. Things were different for WaW and Bo1 because zombies was still being established and reaching it's potential. Reuse assets that's fine, don't reuse the entire map. When current custom maps feel more official than Treyarch maps during the Cold War seasons, there is a problem.

I remember the storytelling in WaW, for instance, was all environmental or character driven. The new cod storytelling is that everyone is a bland tough guy, and we are gonna blow stuff up in mexico because we made a border crossing map. I still get chills when reznov is talking about all the people who used to live in the city before the german invasion in WaW. It really felt like you did something meaningful when you planted the flag atop the reichstag.

The point about zombies trying to be integrated into the overall narrative of modern COD games is one I resonate with tremendously. There’s always been a magic to zombies maps and the playing experience that isn’t present anymore and I always had a tough time understanding what it was. But truly, I believe that is the reason. All these fantastical story lines and derivations from actual events in humanity’s history gives it the zombies feel, and now sadly, I’m doubtful we’ll ever get that same magic back.

Something I’ve come to find out is if one of the game’s selling points is how good it looks, it’s probably going to be garbage. The biggest problem I see with constantly requiring online connectivity is that eventually when the games player base dwindles, they will shutdown the servers, meaning you won’t be able to play that game ever again. They are reserving the right to end the lifecycle of all of their games from now on, forcing you to buy the next latest and greatest because you now don’t technically own any part of the game anymore.

Navigating through the menus wasn't such a pain, for lets say black ops 3, black ops 2 and black ops 1 in comparison to the newer titles where even trying to find the start or options button is a struggle now.

Destiny 2 has done the same things They’ve charged full price for redone maps and guns. And have locked up content that we all paid for with disc version 10 years ago. We don’t get to play a lot of the content that came out with the disc version anymore. It seems more companies are doing this too.

They make treyarch games bad, so other studios games don't look bad. There could be a possibility that the jobs lay offs in the past might have got rid of people who actually cared for their fans and what they created, instead of meeting deadlines to get payed. I love zombies, but if there just going to make everything online I quit. The last good zombies game was black ops 3 and black ops 4 wasn't a finished product until the life cycle was over then they did a little better with Cold war, but not as good as bo3.

It's not SBMM anymore. It's EOMM. No longer about skill. It's about keeping you in the game to get you to buy more in microtransactions. (Engagement Optimization Match Making). They have a patent on it, and it would be silly to think they won't use it as long as it is considered legal.

I wonder in Blundell will return. He left his own company of Deviation Games and has since disappeared. My theory of thought is what if Activision got to him and convinced him to return since now Microsoft runs things so now he may he have his creative freedoms for which he left in the first place. This would be wild and what the community needs. But I haven’t done my homework recently and see what he may be up to. But a fun thought to really think about since he’s been so mysterious.

I feel like playing call of duty nowadays is like being in a toxic relationship where they keep saying they could change, but would they? And each passing game it comes to show that even though it feels like they changed in the first few months, after you begin to realise they were doing the same thing they were always doing, just now they're doing it in a different way. Most of us stay because even though most of us say its god awful, which in honesty it is kind of dogshit, we stay because of the first time we all played wether it be bo1, or bo2, or modern warfare, wether you were a zombies or multiplayer guy, we all want that same euphoric feeling to be real again. (Or something, idk)

My only argument for cod is that Al Mazrah and Urzikstan (I believe is how it's spelt) are bigger maps and are warzone/DMZ maps, whereas before they were just mp maps so if they stick to that it might be fine but WZ/DMZ maps will hurt it

Indeed. Zombies needs its soul, its creative overcoming in tragedy of which the bo3 bo2 bo1 games had. It needs to distinguish itself away from the COD multiplayer culture, and cultivate back its own culture
