When you ping an exfil and you're far away from it the game will ping a vehicle instead (Obviously wanting you to use said vehicle to reach the exfil point) but the issue is the exfil point doesn't remain highlighted and it's just the vehicle that does so therefore The Act Man's confusion is definitely warrented especially if it's one of his first few games on the zombies mode.

It was completely unclear what to do, as it’s 1 of his first zombies experiences and it’s obvious he’s very oblivious here. I personally haven’t played MW3 zombies, but if I saw a map like that, with objectives, etc… I am pretty sure i’d be just as clueless. This game’s zombies is much less obvious than round based, where round based is just survive however you can.

@@LuxEternis The games loading screen tells you to do contracts. And exfil before the timer ends. There's also multiple promps. Voice lines and more in game to warn you what you do. He didn't even give the game a chance. He played one game. Refused to learn the mechanics then quit.

"you have no idea how directionless most people are in a new game" that is something that is very truthfully spoken, imma shout out a channel called defendthehouse and their series of trying out the cod zombies mode for the first time, the one that stuck out to me the most on their channel was them playing origins where they thought they couldnt have the generators all on at the same time and so left them, or how they kept hanging around in the footprints of the giants causing them to go down, seeing them struggle is just so odd to me because im use to that map, but then they get some help from reviews and guides online to get atleast iirc the frist step done, where they build and upgrade the staffs, then move on to the main ee with 2 of their patrons to help them out, blitzing through it with ease people are always new to things, hell i haven't touched zombies since the Bo3 days and it looks completely different now, so i am certain i too would also end up doing something stupid aswell, but does that mean we should bully, insult or make fun of the person who messed up and say their opinion is invalid, we could use that same very logic for transit, that if you failed on it and thought it was hard and shit well you dont deserve to have an opinion because your shit, thats what it sounds like to me, cant we just be friends and help improve eachothers experience

People also need to understand: when games do a poor job tutorializing new players, this is the result. Negative first impressions. For the first mission, the game should’ve had an announcer walk you through using the map, teach you how to tag points of interest and how to find Exfils. I already played DMZ and Outbreak, so I knew what I was looking at pretty quickly.

My hot take... They should keep the first 45 minute timer. Instead of having 15 minutes to make it out (or to last exfil) you should be allowed to stay aa long as you like, but zone 3 should slowly expand across the entire map over that 15 minutes instead of a toxic zone. After 15 minutes there is no more timer and only 1 exfil location left permanently. Then you can play to your hearts content but there is still a challenge for doing so.

I'd also like to see more zombies spawning in the game, but at fixed locations that are clever enough to not be exploited for exp as opposed to them popping up 2 feet in front of you and then body blocking you in to a room to die. i’ve grinded a lot of mw3 zombies. i have all 3 characters with top tier gear and a stash of the highest level items. ive fully ranked all SMGs and ARs by playing it. there isnt a single bug-free aspect of the mode. everything from pinging on the map to the zombies and guns. EVERYTHING IS BUGGED

We can talk about how it is "good or popular" but you have personally said it's not Zombies on multiple occasions and should just be referred to as something different as it's own mode if not just MWZ "And next year, when we get our round based zombies maps...we can have this massive new ground swell of zombies players support, that then moves into the round based mode, Treyarch is more incentivised...to enhance the zombies experience in general because that's where the players are. And everyone wins. Treyarch wins because people are loving their game mode. We win because we keep getting the game mode that we love." Milo, buddy, I really need you to understand this. What was created was a new game mode. Not the same game mode. There will be no serious "graduation into round based". Because this didn't create a actual love for that mode. It created a new fanbase that will look for and expect this experience. You might and will get a contingency that actually will graduate, but it will be a small sample of the MWZ fans. Now imagine a future where both modes are introduced into the next game. Imagine the successor of MWZ is again "good and popular" while the next actual zombies mode has a initial lukewarm reception. What if resources are continuously diverted from one mode into another BO4 style? And in effect start slipping a knife into a dying mode to continue to develop it's new spiritual successor that is easier to develop and constantly evolve throughout the year? This is the future I am seeing. This is not the mode that will bring groups together and create a new zombie golden age. This is only creating a new contingency that will do nothing but further fracture a dying fandom

finally someone said it, well... said all the things that needed to be said, because there is a lot. the entire point of this mode was to try and rope some of the newer, less hardened zombies players into buying their overpriced, re-purposed DLC so that they could say that MW isn't a dead storyline and deserves to have another game (which it doesn't.). and sadly, it's worked. there are so many people praising this game for making a mode that's basically DMZ draped in the half-dead body of the real zombies gamemode, and if you DARE to even imply that this game is what it actually is, a shitty cash grab game, you get flamed by people who just a year ago were incredibly pissed at Vanguard's attempt to bait zombies fans. the entire r/Codzombies subreddit is full of clip after clip, discussion after discussion, on a mode that is 100% NOT zombies. what's even worse is, the mode doesn't even fucking work and people are loving it. main mechanics don't function half the time, and when they do you don't even get the rewards you were supposed to get. it's a shame that this might honestly be the zombies mode all the new Warzone babies are gonna be demanding, cause clearly nobody is listening to the actual Zombies fans. why would you listen to the people who actually like and understand the gamemode for what it is when you can listen to little Timmy, who's 12 and wouldn't know a good zombies map if it slapped him in the face and fucked his mom in front of him.

Act Man is speaking from the heart, along with others who truly love Zombies. The new MWZ mode is soulless. The new "formula" of time management for restricting and controlling a player's time to play in a single session shows what CoD's main focus is. They want to milk the most out of this lackluster mode. The new creative team, isn't so creative. Round based Zombies isn't the only thing missing. We're missing an Easter Egg. We're missing the Cold War leveling up system for Abilities, Perks, and Weapons. We're missing the option for other Zombie gamemodes. Regardless of how you start a MWZ match, being with zero gear or the highest rarity gear. It's all the same because of the time limit in game AND on the loot you hop in with. This is a billion dollar company with zero sense of valuing the wants and needs of the consumer. We all complain and desire change, yet continue to play year after year.

I remember sometime after playing IX on BO4 for, probably 10 hours in total, and getting stuck on the banner challenges because i didn't know what the Death of Orion was, I googled how to complete that little step and was absolutely blown away at this insane multi-round secret adventure to get the weapon. Then I began to learn about how the Death of Orion was only a small step needed to get part of another step, then I learned what a zombies Easter Egg was and I was in such awe. It took my brother and I over 20 attempts and countless weeks to finally beat the whole Easter Egg. Now, 5 years later I have completed every main Easter Egg Treyarch have ever put out, and even still I'll still hop on Black Ops 4 and complete IX without even breaking a sweat or needing to pull out a guide of any sort. We all start our journey somewhere, and Milo's videos and community are the only reason I even care at all really. Approaching people who are just trying to learn, with grace and understanding is the only way we will build our community and the overall experience of the game. Great video Milo. Much love.

Am a hardcore zombies fan and I can't lie, I cannot get around zombies and I feel totally alienated by the franchise. I totally agree with what the Act Man is saying. It would've been forgivable for them to do this if they put a small-medium size, round based map in there as well. But they're putting all their eggs in one basket by having one zombies mode. Few issues I have with it: A) If you allow the player to start with guns AND in an open world, then they have to really wait for the fun, challenging stuff later on. I don't know what others think but I don't find mindlessly murdering bots fun. There needs to be some level of fear/adrenaline-inducing challenge involved. The guns are the first thing but completely open space is another thing. Few tight corners and dead ends to navigate? Well this is just run and gun... B) I do feel like this is just a lazy attempt to start a new game mode - if they are going to do something like this, you're probably going to have to make a map compatible with the genre.

Thanks for bringing a whole layer of nuance to this situation. Even as a veteran zombies player, (waw, bo1, bo2, bo3, bo4, cold war) I've never played DMZ or Onslaught or any other objective based mode, and stuck with the classic round-based gameplay. With the exception of experiencing CW's exfil system, I would definitely be in the same situation as the Act Man. We need more people who can empathize with players of all types/skill levels. To be fair, im as big a fan of zombies as any normal cod player can be. Been playing zombies since bo1. This mode doesn't seem exciting at all. Im not interested in it at all because it seems lazy. The map isn't designed for zombies, it isn't themed for zombies, doesn't seem to have the elements of discovery that round based eater eggs provide. It seems soulless.

One thing that this warzone zombies experience could do that may not be good for the round based maps. The new players that have come to zombies enjoying MWZ could in turn hate round based. They have never seen/played it before so they see zombies as MWZ. Whereas we don’t see this as a ‘proper’ zombies experience as played since nacht. So potentially we could lose a lot of people next year when round based comes back as it isn’t a type of game mode that you can jump on for an hour and just casually play it. You have to be worrying about getting trapped, ammo, opening doors etc.

I totally get where you're coming from when you disagree with the judgement that act man's opinion is invalid based on the gameplay shown by the other Twitter user, however... I'm going purely based on what you showed in the video (not on Twitter, don't follow act man, hadn't heard of this until this video), but with the evidence presented to us I too would agree that Act Man's opinion on MWZ is at the very least uninformed, but probably invalid. Now keep in mind, the only evidence I have is those tweets. From the evidence presented it looks like his tweet is informed by that one round he played of zombies and that round is by far not enough to form a valid final judgement (aka opinion) on MWZ and thus his opinion is, to me, invalid. Now if after that first clip he's played 15 hours of zombies and completed act 1 and figured out how exfils work, etc and he still came to his conclusion: absolutely. Fair enough, my (and your) opinions differ from his, all good. But that's not what the evidence presented is telling us and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the only evidence a lot of those people have been presented, but instead of looking for more information on the subject they judge act man based on just the evidence presented and then; yeah absolutely fair to come to the conclusion that his opinion is based on a severe lack of information and thus invalid

I mentioned this on that tweet thread, but he REALLY wasn't giving it a fair shot. He was blatantly ignoring the mode's mechanic's and acting like there's so much wrong with the mode by playing badly. He even deleted a clip when he was playing with Hidden Xperia where he was freaking out over a group of zombies "doubling in size" when he was just crouching, blaming the game for being glitchy and broken. I'm normally in agreement with his views and respect his opinions that I don't agree with, but he really was just trashing the mode by being trash, and I can't respect his opinion when he isn't being fair.

The MW3 Zombies map is clustered, and since it's online only, there's not really a pause button to read and search it properly. It's a bad UI.
