This map takes place in the comics in between gorod krovi and revelations which is how he got the blood. But Post revelations rictophen came back in time. The reason the past rictophen said you wont even remember is because he died and Alcatraz was sent into the dark Aether meaning they were fully Sent to a whole nother universe

Worst part is that the whole reason Richtofen took the crew to Alcatraz was to save them from getting erased at the end of Revelations. Literally the decision which redeems him as a character is what gets him killed, with none of the other characters appreciating what he was trying to do.

I think there is more to it than just what we saw. The character's knew they were following the Knonorium the whole time and so if another Richtofen shows up and points out to them that it has changed and there is more things they need to do then I understand them just immediately following along. Personally I think he said something to each of the characters and not just Nikolai which convinces them to follow him.

Not quite. The crew being played as in Blood of the Dead is a NEW Primis cycle and the original Primis crew are in the Great War. The Richtofen here in the chainmail is the original Primis Richtofen so his actions still exist to him. He has still been redeemed and he's about to become quite possibly the best of the lot. Nikolai or Richtofen will go down as the hero that saves the universe. Richtofen because he found a way to stop Monty or Nikolai because his soul is apparently key to defeating Monty.

Well what's worse is that the key to breaking the cycle and then beating Monty WAS for Richtophen to die and give his blood. But since he is only human, he feared death. "I wanted to keep going." This means that he led the crew through this cycle many times. The blood was a way to repeat the cycle at the end of Revelations. And it keeps going because he doesn't want to die. Sad as it is, he was selfish. It was totally understandable, but he knew the whole time, as he forced his comrades to kill themselves which hurt them all, that it could be avoided with his death. So that quote before he gets into the Dark Mechanism, when he says "Now I do the right thing. You want mein blood? TAKE MEIN BLOOD!" In this run through, he decides enough is enough, and gives himself up because he knows its the right thing. So ultimately, he does doing the right thing, but with none of his friends thanking him. What hurt most wasnt the fact that he died, it's that he died alone.

It really shows how much Edward doesn’t want to die... doesn’t want to be insane... fights through all this pain and ache to be knowledgeable and be alive in some way. And at the end of the day this was his crew, he sacrificed himself, even though it was probably killing him inside to kill himself. I loved this reaction and it made me tear up as well. It really shows how much you can be connected with these characters. Glad you completed it man, good job!

I don't really get why, I mean, yeah, the scene is sad, but in reality the GW Richtofen is still a 'Primis' Richtofen. He's just one who has seen the end of Revelations (and presumably won the Great War).

In all honesty though, it was the only way we could've broken the Cycle. Richtofen was a fool for thinking he could cheat death, and his selfishness (the insurance policy) caused him and his allies to suffer for eternity through the Cycle. If Richtofen didn't sacrifice his Aether-charged blood to open the portals and let his future self/his friends escape the Island, the Warden would've used the Key and their blood to prematurely unleash the Shadowman and the Apothicons. Richtofen was just a scared man, afraid of death. But the truth is that death comes for us all eventually. One of the best easter egg endings, thank you Treyarch

I have been following this story since the begining, its always had a special place in my heart. It's a story that I love and have always been excited to learn more about. I have always done all the easter eggs up to BO4. This EE in particular gave my squad and I the most difficulty. After many past attempts, today was the final day I would attempt blood of the dead. My squad and I had gotten up to the boss fight entrance. We put in the final orb and the door opened to go up, we scrambled up at the end of the round. We stood on the lights trying to enter the arena, but it wouldn't work. We were frantically all pressing square and trying to do it in sync in different orders but we had no luck. The zombies of the round came flooding in the tight area and we tried as hard as we could to find them off and enter the arena. After nearly four hours of attempting this EE, the game got the better of us and we died at the doorstep to end game. We knew the bossfight wouldn't be much of a problem but the way we had to go this game was the worst zombies experience I've ever had, simply bc the game would't show the hold square to enter. After the biggest L in my time playing COD zombies had been taken, I decided I must watch the cutscene. I kept the cutscene out of my sight waiting to beat it so I could experience the ending myself. After this immensely tough defeat, I wasn't going to try again, I watched the cutscene. This video in particular. This was the most emotional experience of COD zombies for me. I hadn't seen this cutscene until today after our last attempt and failure earlier. What a surprise this was. Richtofen's death was sad and I cant play zombies the same ever again. Well played treyarch, what an amazing cutscene, truly hit the die hard zombies fans like myself, Milo and many others in the feels. Its a very sad surprise, but now i am more than excited for the new content to come. THANK YOU TREYARCH keep up the amazing story you've created. RIP Edward :(.

Phill Summers in this ending he is dead, in the post revelations that is the cycle, in this map instead of returning to zns then going to gorod, the timeline changed and the cycle is broken, they left him and he died, but they will probably later on defeat dr Monty which is the good ending we wanted. Also it is terribly sad

The one we play in origins isn’t dead, that’s the medieval one who experienced revelations. The one that died is the richtofen from the new cycle, the one that lives is the one from the last who preserved himself under alcatraz. But indeed a rip nontheless.

@@Bram_Weijgers They're still technically the same Richtofen. They both experienced Origins-Zetsubou except the Templar one went through Gorod and Revelations. I don't think the Revelations Richtofen crossed paths with a whole different universe going through the same cycle because there's no mentions of another universe/dimension it's the same universe and dimension. but anyways I believe Revelationd Richtofen went back in time in his own timeline to make sure he eliminated himself and educated Nikolai of what needs to happen. Thus saying since this Richtofen died the Templar/Ancient Revelations Richtofen will now cease to exist.

Napzie I agree on the first part, but maybe rev happened in this universe, richtofen was sent back to the great battle and then the whole cycle happened again due to monty letting it happen cause he appearantly is the villain. Therefore richtofen from the great war, now aware of this, freezes himself and breaks the cycle here.
