This review was originally posted July 3rd, 2014. I've re-edited it slightly for KZbin, trying to clean up the audio (as best as possible), and some edits to the film clips with a new technique, so let me know what you think. I thought I'd repost this one given the response to The Nan Movie review, and I'm sure a lot of my newer viewers have never seen this. Mostly I just watch this and see how far my production and performance have come in nearly a decade!

I'd love to see the Keith lemon and Harry Hill movie reviews on youtube, though maybe put on the Alan Partridge one up as well to be nice to yourself! You've come on so far in the past few years and I love watching your stuff.

Has it been nearly a decade since this came out? Yikes. I think we ALL feel old now. :(

The Tyler Perry comparison is quite apt, considering that in another 8 years, Mrs. Brown ends up starring in a Madea movie XD

She is basically the british Tyler Perry... and about as funny. (Read: not at all)

Yes! More of these. Also, I’d love to see Wes cravens don’t look down uploaded. That moment when the camera zooms into the window washers eye is the funniest bad movie beatdown moment ever

It AMAZES me that Mrs Brown's Boys has been going for over a decade. I don't outright despise the show, it has a nice cozy energy and a panto-style feel, etc, but this movie, seeing it pop up on Netflix, was a *MISERABLE* time. The fact that they pause for laughter after jokes in a movie, and fake outakes, and zero energy, is an awful experience! 😑

Even fans think it's long outstayed it's welcome by this point.

Absolutely incredible to see how your editing, production, analysis, and even confidence have improved over the years! I can't believe this review is nearly ten years old though....

This character had a weird journey, from the book to being played by Angelica Houston in the adaption of the book to the stage shows to the TV shows. If you want to demonstrate to someone what Flanderization is, show em the different versions of Mrs Brown.

"D" is definitely what I'd give this flick. And yet, my mom would probably love it. I can remember her watching and laughing hysterically at the Mrs Brown's Boys TV show...

Hey, Mat, for the 10th anniversary of the modern classic, Keith Lemon: The Film, are you gonna do an extended Projector on the film, a retrospective on your podcast, anything?

Im kinda surprised he didn't reply to this comment...

He did cover it again on the 'worst films at the cinema' video [where it was No.1] if you've not seen that. Kelly Brook recently put up a pic of her with Leigh Francis at the premier on instagram so she's not trying to hide it which I suppose is credible!

@@HBarnill I remember reading she had fun making it and she's a good friend of Leigh Francis in real life [the post was to mark the end of Celebrity Juice] so...maybe she is proud of it!

I remember watching this on blip years ago, glad it's finally on KZbin. It's a terrible movie but it's still a masterpiece compared to Keith Lemon the Film.

This was entertaining. I know nothing of the character or the show, but once you compared it to "When the Whistle Blows", I got a clear picture. I must have seen "Extras" a dozen times. Any chance you'll repost more Projector episodes from "the vault"?

Enjoyable review for a pretty weak film [unsurprisingly director Ben Kellett hasn't directed another movie, sticking to TV]. Thankfully we never got the planned Mrs Brown Cinematic universe with a sequel, Mr Wang and Rory+ Dino movies! Even so, they have still made xmas specials, live tv shows, theatre and even a 4 series talk show out of it post movie and the sitcom is endlessly repeated so it feels rarely off TV, though by this point even fans of the earlier stuff generally think it's long outstayed its welcome. Shaun of the Dead shows what you can do with a low budget compared to something like this.

I read this as "D-Movie review" which is kinda accurate. Gotta say, if this is british comedy now... can we have Snuff Box back? Or That Mitchell and Webb Look?

Thanks for the re upload Film brain. A.k.A. Brian Flim. I loved Mrs. Browns boys.... Not unlike a Maried with children sort of show.
