Hoshi said that with this solo project he had a large hand in its artistic direction and production process and personally reached out to the mv director to sync their schedules together to make this work bc he wanted that specific team. This solo was really able to bring out the best of Hoshi and truly show his own unique colors and artistry

OMG Sam you reacted to it!!!! Hoshi just impressed me so much in this concept suits him so well~~~ Many junior idols respect Hoshi a lot because of his charismatic performance. On a voting chart by all kpop idols for who they think the best dancer is that they look up to, Hoshi is voted as the No.2 (Kai is no.1). So proud of my boy 😎

regarding the video editing, just wanted to point out that in some parts when the frame is shortened on the top and the bottom, hoshi's arms kind of "come out" of it (they are basically over the black part of the image, aka out of the filming frame) and I just thought that was so clever and fun to add in, it's pretty subtle but brings the visual experience to a whole new level

Hi, Sammy! Hoshi actually announced this "mixtape" out of nowhere just a few days back...Which totally caught us Carats by surprise... And mixtapes are supposed to be just songs... And we thought we were just getting it on SoundCloud, but then this was made available on all major streaming platforms, and he also dropped this masterpiece of an MV! d< It was so funny how Carats reacted to that... We pointedly ignored the gdrive and dropbox links and streamed on all platforms... :)) Back to the song, if you read the description of the MV, HOSHI is credited as a song-writer, composer and choreographer for this.. And in one of his interviews, he said that he was composing in Woozi's studio and made Woozi listen to the song, and Woozi gave the title Spider. He wrote the song because he was missing Carats and wanted to give us a good song to enjoy while waiting for their group comeback. :) He said he learned what his personal style of music was while producing this song, and he had such a specific concept that he even personally contacted the MV director to get her on board on this project. According to Seungkwan's weverse post, HOSHI did this while SVT was technically supposed to be resting between comebacks... :))

All the lines, the "paint" on the floor and the dancers wearing white represent the web. And the dancers wearing black the spiders.. he's trapped in the web and the spiders won't let him out/escape. If you watch carefully you'll see that the dancers are holding him back in some parts.
