I love to flirt with my husband. When he says do you want to eat somewhere, I say are you asking me out on a date? He smiles and says of course. Married 24 years. Just one example but the point is it takes both parties to get what you want out of marriage. 💍

At first I was sad watching this like “I wish I would have found my spouse years in HS.” But then I realized it doesn’t matter the journey you take whether by yourself or with another person because the underlining theme was ‘finding yourself’. You can do that with someone or without. So that shed some good insight or what those relationships are like. Great conversation you guys!

I let him live but now its time for bed and i gotta get up at 5am for work.. now its like 2am!!! And im still hearing the game, the pushing of buttons and trash talk. My prego self got up threw his pillow at him and was like " sleep with your boyfriend then" 😆 needless to say almost 16 yrs in, we dont have late night video game issues anymore lol

I am really enjoying this marriage Bihar conversations. In the portion toward the end where they discussed college for their children. I would agree that it is our goal to help launch our children. I believe sending your child to college enables you to be more ready to launch them when they graduate. I think it’s God’s little gift to the parent to be ready for the next chapter. Enjoy the journey.

College is not for all people and so when you learn your child you learn that and you can still “steer them in the way they should go” even if they go to a trade school, go directly to work or choose something else. I had to understand that lesson even with my own “now grown children” that college is not for everyone. There’s plenty of people with college degrees not doing anything with that degree and making minimum wage because they still don’t have a clear direction on where they should be in life. Don’t get me wrong, college is GREAT! But I wish some folks would stop “pressuring” people that college is the “only” way to be well educated, knowledgeable, have structure, etc. It’s not.
@bravemac86122 жыл бұрын
I def agree with Melissa on not making Isaiah go to school because Erica talked about the scripture about raising up a child in the way they should go but the context of that is talking about a relationship with God not college or their gifts. I understand what Erica was trying to say but unfortunately that isn't the context of that verse. Melissa has the right idea for sure but also pray for them that God would lead them(children, and Kev and Melissa) to show them where God wants them to go!
@4rmbwithluv Жыл бұрын
She used the contex correctly. Train up a child in the way that they should go means with God and life. Which means as a parent you have to have discernment on the person that God wants your child to be and train them up according to who God shows you they are. Contex is correct
@bravemac8612 Жыл бұрын
@@4rmbwithluv You are absolutely correct in what you say I should’ve been more clear I realise sometimes we need to be a little bit more clear when we are writing things LOL what I meant was I kept hearing Erica talk about how she wanted this for her daughter and she wanted this and she was living through her daughter so when I hear that scripture in light of that, then it’s out of context. but as far as discerning where your daughter should go and training her up in that sense yes I agree that would be in context but in hearing the interview I didn’t hear that unfortunately. I heard Erica repeatedly say she wanted this for her daughter and she was vicariously living through her daughter.

Gurl. I just starting watching these and Melissa you are absolutely called to this work. I have been wanting some uncut, real life conversations about marriage because NOBODY tells you what’s real, no one is transparent and vulnerable, everybody claiming to be out here living their best life 😂 Thank you for this platform which brings about transparency in a loving and thoughtful manner. This is more than a book, the podcast needs to keep going and then after that, we need the MBH annual retreat/conferences, and then after that we need the docu-series which can be a follow up to Black Love and then we need the scripted series and movie. There I said it!! This stuff is good, I’m telling you. I’ve been Married 8 years, got three kids and am in my early 40s and ain’t nothing but truth coming through those podcast mics. It’s blessing my soul with every episode. Keep pushing and giving us this content, the culture neeeeeeeeeeeds it!

I hear you but if the person receiving it doesn't see it that way, it won't be received as one. Intention vs impact
@aliciacheekphd2 жыл бұрын
The intent is good and of course it’s meant as a compliment but it’s too much pressure. We’re all just flawed individuals. Also people only show us what they want us to see. We can be calling a couple “goals” because of pretty pictures and good acting, but behind closed doors, they’re struggling.
