3:14 I think what this person is trying to say is that rapid trigger eliminates the need to develop your tapping technique to high levels by eliminating the consideration for actuation points. You simply need to move your fingers and not worry about messing up a stream or getting notelock because of improper technique that leads to your keys not actuating.

@@paithen7033 You have a completely valid point, I thought about this a lot when I hit a wall playing 4k mania maps, I was limited by my speed and was moving my fingers too much (accentuating notes in different patterns) and I improved by focusing on moving to just over the actuation point to reset the key - it actually worked fairly well and I got a bit faster on jumpstreams and dump maps. So yes, I would agree wooting helps in this regard (although I do not own one myself).

the second one is basically saying: with a normal keyboard, you have to pay attention to how specifically you're tapping, what with actuation points and the risk of not fully extending or descending, this limits your options for the techniques you can employ. Wooting on the other hand, let's you use a great deal of other tapping techniques that on a normal keyboard would be terrible, but because of the rapid trigger function now are possible, many of these techniques being much easier to use. Like you said, if you can already tap that fast, you can play that bpm, certainly, but what wooting does is let you skip the part where you need to find a good technique to be consistent with that speed. For example, Roaz uses a technique in which he just barely moves his fingers, almost vibro, which on a normal kb, you would need to master knowing exactly where your actuation point is, and always be able to perfectly go above and below it with every one of your micromovements. That takes a lot of muscle memory to acomplish, you need to put the effort in to make the technique work. On the wooting? if you have the tapping motion down, you can entirely skip the muscle memory building.

mega based from Spazza to not become the 17 trillionth person to jump on the cringe combo rework bandwagon, yeah sure heavily nerfing combo's effect on pp will probably make the system a bit more representative of how good a play actually is but it will ruin much of the hype of scores and the impressiveness of consistency. kinda funny on the schedule part coz the actual science seems to say that rest days dont have any benefit over just playing and the most "science informed" things you can do to improve faster at osu is sleep better and challenge yourself in novel ways (which is true for anything) rest days are the best way to get the most improvement with the least time investment coz ur brain will improve ur skill for a couple nights of sleep after the practice but overall if ur goal is to get good as fast as possible its better to just shred and sleep well lol

@martinygard4307 Жыл бұрын
About the question on 8:00, what if the miss was in the last 10% of the map? Or last 5% of the map, maybe it should count for more pp considering when you missed, since your nerves are low if you miss in the start and fc the rest as you mentioned, but not when you are fc'ing all the way untill you miss in the end.

About speed and the wooting as an overall rank 1.4k player myself I do not have the wooting yet, but I tried it out for 2hours. I already have the tapping speed for max 300bpm, I cant do more than that at all. I cannot acc 270 because of finger locks that have made me unable learn to acc it since I am always unsure if I overstreamed, understreamed and such. But wooting did something, I got insane accuracy, I could tap 300 pretty well, even lower bpm like 250 I did fantastic on. BUT I already knew I can tap all of those bpms. My only problem is finger locks, and that enabled me to get more stamina in 270bpm streams and higher, but it didnt help me get MORE speed. You could argue that when I gain more stamina, like me, i gained 270 stamina for 200 note streams where as before I could barely do 50, it translates to gaining "more speed" but no. You still click as fast, just for longer.

There are currently scores on Osu! Lazer that have less acc (-5%+) and combo (-200+) with higher miss counts than scores I've set, and they can't be beaten. Before that was a thing I would never have cared about how much combo is weighed.

Getting ranks are good and fun, farming and seeing your rank get better is fun, and when you can't farm anymore, go back to pushing your skill cap with speed practice maps, improving aim, improving reading and all, it's super fun and then go back to farming and get more ranks and repeat. If you enjoy game like that there is nothing wrong and everyone who says otherwise hate farm maps for the sake of it, or hating on Sotarks or some other mappers.

@@sid6645 I strongly disagree. Mouse or tablet is a preference but for example a good "gaming“ mouse compared to a 1$ mouse stolen from your school is just a big upgrade not for most, but for all players. Yeah some players won’t need it, but it does not change the fact that they would still play better or reach new skill ceilings.

I do think equipment makes a difference as a beginner if you're uncomfortable, though... I used to play on a cheap chinese knockoff keyboard with blue switches and it absolutely killed my hands. And if someone is playing on a cheap membrane or laptop kb, I think it's going to be more difficult to learn bursts and streams. Why make the game more difficult for yourself on purpose just because new equipment won't make you a pro? I would honestly recommend any beginner with bad equipment to at least get a keypad if they're serious about the game, for their hands at the very least.

If osu lives on for another 10, 20 years - or more - Cookiezi’s legacy will fall behind mrekk’s. Players like whitecat, bubbleman, ristel or vaxei will bejust regarded as someone who was number 1 or good at tournaments.
@gooper8417 Жыл бұрын
I don't know. I don't mean to be a shige fanboy but he got in on the game when it was still young, when, arguably, a skillset as special and fleshed out as his was 1 of 1. Sure, all of those players were groundbreaking, but I think shige was the first to show people that breaking the human limit was possible. Being the first to do anything comes with quite the legacy. I don't think it's fair to mrekk of all people to compare him to shige, what he has done is just as impressive. He's taken the blueprint laid out by the number 1s before him and done what they couldn't. Stayed active, persistent, always improving, always dedicated. Not even shige can say that.
@Dewwwwvwvwvw Жыл бұрын
sure,IF SHIGE QUITS and OTHER PEOPLE KEEP PLAYING. shige is STILL playing and has made a comeback MANY times, it is unfathomable how long shige has played at a top level,while improving,setting unique scores,played during different kind of eras and is still showing no signs of stopping. mrekk has shown no signs that he could recover from a major injury, or quitting the game for years because of school and comeback or whatever and has only been dominant on one era, the speed aim/brute force tapping.
