In today's video I will be doing a new first time reaction and analysis for "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)". As told to me by Cinderella Fans this is one of Cinderella's best songs and they were right. This song moved me to tears. "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" is a power rock ballad released in 1988. unlike, the party scene type glam metal like in Shake me by Cinderella, "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone) is more reflective. The song reflects on the regret and longing of losing someone important. Its lyrics convey the realization of the value of love and companionship only after it's gone. The song's melodic composition, poignant lyrics, powerful, emotive, and effective vocal delivery, soaring chorus and guitar work is notable. Among this type of song, the late ‘80s power ballad, this has to be one of the top tunes. It still works so well. The title is a classic and true sentiment. I had a deep connection to this song in 1988, I was going thru some rough times and this song spoke to me. I lost my older brother and then I caught my wife cheating on me so I took solace in music. However it's not that I was down but that I got back up, that is what is the important part of dealing with heartbreak and loss. Cinderella wasn't quite metal or pop, somewhere in the middle but a great contributor to music. Music is for all and there is so much to choose from so everyone's taste is different. I grew up thru the beginning of rock in the 60's and 70's and the magic that music possesses is amazing! The 80's gave us quite a few different styles including punk rock and heavy metal. It is a wonderful thing to see someone probably 1/3 my age experiencing many of the same things I did, many blessings to you and thanks!

It was and is emotional at the time this came out I was 21 and just got out of a relationship , she cheated on me and I was going through depression and this song I listened to over and over crying , I needed the crying to relieve my pain

Don't know where you are, but, if, tom keifer is ever in your area on tour, go to the show. You will not be disappointed. Seen Cinderella 3 times, and his band 7 time's. Tom still has his voice almost 40 year's later. And in your own time, check out the video's he's done of this song with his wife singing, amd there is a couple he did with Lizzy hale too singing it live. Amazing

This would be a really good Drake song. Tom bleeds it to death so the music needs an overall but the lyrics are valid decades after the fsct. No way, Abel couldnt cover this like he did with that Kim Carnes pop radio trajedy.
