Towards the end he sings about it only being the day before somewhere else ( the multiverse). It is just one possible path for humanity, it might seem like we are on that path, but taking a turn at any point could have vastly different outcomes long in the future, just as our past affects our today. The rub is knowing which turn to take, and when to take it.

My parents had this on 45. I played that record to shreds as a kid. If you’re looking for some fun similar themes, check out the albums “Time,” by ELO and “Kilroy Was Here,” by Styx. Both are semi-dystopic concept albums. Just begin with the first song on each, though with “Time” you need to listen to “Prologue/Twilight” together. The movie you’re thinking of is “Demolition Man.”

I was 10 when this was released in the summer of 1969. It played in continuous rotation of AM radio for quite a while. It was huge. Sadly, they really didn't have any other songs that hit the charts. You have to remember the times at well back then. The space race between us and the Soviets was in the news, we were the first to the moon, racial unrest was rampant in the country, my father had just retired from the Army after serving in Vietnam and he got caught up in riots while selling insurance in a neighboring town, and young men were dying thousands of miles away in a foreign country in a war half the country didn't support.

I believe this song was influenced by the article "The Future as a Way of Life" in Horizon magazine, Summer 1965 issue. Which led to the book Future Shock is a 1970 book by American futurist Alvin Toffler,[1] written together with his wife Adelaide Farrell,[2][3] in which the authors define the term "future shock" as a certain psychological state of individuals and entire societies, and a personal perception of "too much change in too short a period of time". The book, which became an international bestseller, has sold over 6 million copies and has been widely translated.

Since then (a little bit earlier) mankind had the first time the ability to erase itself........ Nowadays the question is more: will mankind be enslaved by AI or be erased ...either by itself or by AI.....which.....developed enough doesent need humans anymore....... Nobody back then thought we will have phones for the pocket ....... Our signal to come home had been the street lights....... You can spend an philosophical night on that song............

Great reaction to a song that fascinated me even as a child. And even more so as I got older and understood the meaning. I agree with many of your statements. But in one case, you too are a victim of targeted disinformation through social media. If you believe that Elon Musk is actually warning about the dangers of AI because he cares about the well-being of humanity, freedom and democratic values, then you are completely on the wrong track. If he does this publicly, it only serves to maintain his philanthropic image and facade as public discussion about the dangers of AI becomes louder and louder. And speaking out as a warning voice in this discussion is, of course, very well received by the gullible. Please don't take this as a personal attack, but we in Western Europe (still) have free media that are not completely controlled by opinion-forming corporations, autocracies and dictatorships, which is why we probably know more about what is going on behind the scenes. Elon Musk is not the protector of humanity and savior of the world that he portrays himself to be in public. That is just what the whole world is supposed to believe about him. He is a master of manipulation and disinformation, and unfortunately his charade works in most people's minds. Elon Musk has very close ties to leading figures in the right-libertarian movement (Peter Thiel, to name just one), who fundamentally reject any form of democracy and constitutional legality, including, for example, women's suffrage. And Musk's takeover of Twitter was not simply an extravagance of a bored multi-billionaire who doesn't know what to do with his money. He did it with very specific intentions. A quote from an article of 2022 by the German publicist Richard Herzinger (herzinger.org - sorry, but only in German) that aptly sums up his true intentions: "By taking over Twitter, Elon Musk has acquired a powerful tool for influencing public opinion. Under the pretext of allowing more "diversity of opinion", he is opening up the short message service to fake news and anti-democratic conspiracy fantasies - and thus to the Kremlin's disinformation warriors and the networks of their western sound amplifiers. Billionaires like Musk or Peter Thiel embody a new type of egomania that is reminiscent of the villains of the James Bond films and calls democracy into question worldwide." So my advice to you is to inform yourself beforehand about people who you portray in your videos as having integrity.
@MrsRealistic

@@MrsRealistic No problem, it was actually a misinterpretation, as English is not my native language. Things like that can happen because we are (fortunately) not an AI, which cannot interpret, only act. 😉 BTW, Since the two musicians Denny Zager and Rick Evans only formed a musical duo from 1969 to 1970 and only had this one worldwide Top 100 Billboard success, they are the biggest one-hit wonder of any artist at any time in recording history selling over 20 million records world wide. Denny Zager had already composed the song in 1964 in only about half an hour. It was only after he and Rick Evans played the song live in 1969 and the audience liked it that they decided to record it. And the rest is history, except that In The Year 2525 is and will be probably one of, if not the most covered songs of all time.

the first test tube baby twins occurred in nineteen eighty two in canada. in vitro fertilization produced two embryos in a test tube, which were then placed in the mother, Kit Rankin. they grew to normal children..out of a test tube. i know. because i was a newspaper reporter who followed the case and interviewed the Rankin family in oakville, ontario, canada. i'm retired now. but have also recently learned that one of the test tube babies became a father; the first test tube baby to become father to a child born of an actual woman. i dont think that humans come straight out of the test tube exclusive of a human pregnancy..yet. but its gonna happen. and that will fulfill the zagar and evans prophecy. btw, love your comments. you are not a crazy tinfoil hat lady at all.

Yeah. You know, the more i live and breathe the less i believe the bullshit. Because you are right, it does seep through our daily lives, insidiously. We are being prepared for things we know nothing of and yet we blithely accept everything thrown at us. As a former reporter for 25 years, i helped pave the way for this stuff by focusing on the drama, not the content.@@MrsRealistic

@@gordkolle-bl1ci You're so right. They want us to not find anything weird about the things going on... so they prepare us for years ahead of it to just blindly nod and smile.

I was a kid when this came out so I didn't really appreciate the message back then. It makes more sense now!

A plane of consciousness! Or a "video game". ;) I've talked about that in some of my other videos.
