You are so right, counting calories doesn't work for most people. The best thing us to cut down on the sugars and rubbish in your diet, eat 3 meals a day and eat until you are full at each meal. I'm trying to stick to that now, because I don't need to snack, and every time I eat something full of sugar I just think "did I really need that?". Most of the time I eat the less healthy stuff it's because my husband is eating it (I think all husbands have that in-built!). Saying that, I'm definitely not depriving myself. I enjoy my food too much for that! In terms of exercise, I'm doing more different things - running, walking, cycling, and hopefully once the Prime Minister announces the changes to lockdown I won't have to choose between a run and a bike ride each day! You are doing so well to lose weight in lockdown, I've definitely been putting it on! You are a ray of sunshine in my week 🌞🌈

thank you for such a thoughtful comment! It seems like we have similar husbands in that department lol I always failed to stick with a diet as soon as I saw Dan eat a cookie because I was always so hungry from not eating enough or not eating balanced meals!

I started watching your tik toks MONTHS ago. A few weeks back I started watching your KZbin videos. They inspired me to make myself start running.... I was an athletic kid, I played basketball for like 13 years and volleyball for 5, but I have ALWAYS hated running, but I’ve always wanted to learn to enjoy it. So the morning after I started watching your videos, I decided to make myself run. I was going to do the run for 30 days thing, but I gave a neuroma in my foot and I work on my feet for 12+ hours a shift so it flared up and I couldn’t run for a few days. Through watching your videos I have a new perspective on it. I look forward to my runs now. I don’t necessarily love running, there are some mornings I decide I’m going to just see how my foot is doing, and if it’s okay throughout the day I’ll go for a run in the later afternoon and if it’s hurting I’ll let myself take a rest day. I just wanted to thank you for inspiring myself and I’m sure so many others. This is the first time in my life I’ve had a healthy relationship with exercise.

You've inspired me to come up with my own way to lose weight, since I'm physically not in the best of shape. I started on the Weight Watchers with their new app that takes the guesswork out, and in my first week, I dropped 11 pounds - I kid you not! I weigh when I donate plasma, so i trust their scales more than my own.

This is my first time watching one of your KZbin videos! I love all of your running and good morning TikToks! Thanks for sharing your journey. You are an inspiration! I have never done keto, but I have tracked my macros. Like you said, it lets you fit in carbs and treats where you want to. But I will say it’s not sustainable because weighing and counting so much is exhausting to keep up with!

My eating habits aren’t the greatest, but not the worst. LOL. I need to do better. It is tricky because my husband is a picky eater. It can make it really discouraging. But like you it’s easier for me not to make the better choices. Mainly because I’m a diabetic, and I don’t like the crappy feeling when I make really horrible decisions. Keep up your good work!!

I know this is older, but I just wanted to say, run/walk does not work for me either. On such a program I could never run for longer than about 8 minutes and it was super hard. I eventually stopped doing that last week and decided to try to just run a mile very slowly and try to increase the duration, rather than speed. Yesterday I ran for 20 minutes! I only covered a mile and a half, but it felt so much better than stopping and starting all the time. I was incredibly proud to have gone 20 mins nonstop, albeit slowly.

Sometimes when something gives me anxiety, I just have to force myself to do it once to show myself the anxiety wasn't warranted! Just get out for a little run, go through the motions just to ease your anxiety about it and go from there.

What a timely video! I’m recommitting to a healthier diet after a doc visit yesterday! Nutrition has always been the hard part of my fitness journey, so I’m tracking portions right now to get into better habits so that my body gets enough nutrients. It seems like it’s going to be a very daunting task, but just going to try to take it one day at a time ☺️

You got this! Yes take it one day at I time and I promise in a week or two you won't even remember how you used to eat or WHY you used to eat that much. It's amazing how your brain can adapt to a new normal.

Love your videos! You've inspired me to start running. Today will be my 4th run, I've been going c25k and I'll be repeating week 1 several times Haha. I run 3km, I think that's almost 2 miles? 60 sec jog 90 sec walk. It's been going great and I feel great. One thing that helped me when I was trying to first lose weight was intermittent fasting - I dont really like breakfast foods anyways and I'm often not hungry in the mornings. I still had the same amount of calories and felt good and lost some weight. May 4th was also my one year cigarette free so this running thing is a bit easier lol.

I've gotten really bad about snacking on junk food since coming home from college due to quarantine. My dad keeps more junk foods in the house than I prefer to while I'm at school and they are a huge temptation for me (especially when I'm stressed or emotional haha). The good(?) news is that my sister had to postpone her wedding another year so at least I just got another 14 months to lose weight before her wedding haha. Thanks so much for your videos! I always look forward to that notification!
@MrsSpaceCadet4 жыл бұрын
I really struggled with this too. For the first week, I would drink a seltzer instead of having the junk food snack and do ten squats, then find something to keep busy with and before I knew it, it was time for bed and I felt great for not eating the crap.

Erin, I'm so excited and happy for you that you are settling into a great new eating plan that is working for you. I am not there yet. I had actually been doing pretty well right before all this craziness and that seemed to be the excuse I needed to fall back into all my old binging habits. So that's where I'm at currently frustrated with myself which is pretty normal. LOL
@MrsSpaceCadet4 жыл бұрын
I totally relate to this! At the beginning of the quarantine with everything being scary and unknown, I started eating worse and drinking more. That's when I realized how miserable I would be at the end of quarantine if I gained a bunch of weight and was overall more unhealthy. It's been a good distraction to focus on my health during this time. Keep me posted how you're doing. You're worth being healthy!

I try not to eat less than an hour before my run, but breakfast is yogurt/granola/fruit or eggs and greens, maybe with toast. If I go out for a morning run, I sometimes just eat a Nature Valley XL protein bar and coffee of course :) I'll be doing a whole video about this shortly :)

My eating has had ups and downs in the last few weeks of my fitness journey. Ive been really excited about the healthy and nutritious meals that I make and can feel satiated and satisfied.... but then the night comes. ALL I want an hour after dinner to when I go to bed is CHOCOLATE or ICE CREAM! i still haven't found a way to keep these cravings at bay and I'm caving which I know is messing up my calorie intake :(
@MrsSpaceCadet4 жыл бұрын
This was a big thing I struggled with! My go to was apple and a ton of peanut butter which was adding calories I didn't need because I wasn't actually hungry and I just wanted something sweet after dinner. What I do now is I do ten squats when I have the urge to eat something like that, find something to distract myself, drink a seltzer, and before I know it it's time for bed and I didn't give into that craving! I don't have to do all this anymore, but this is what I did the first week of trying to kick the habit. You can do it!
@sharondean8874 жыл бұрын
I allow myself a piece of chocolate or a cookie when I feel the urge. I don't keep too much junk in my house, cuz I'll eat it all. My weakness is chips, my body craves the salt. Unrelated to food, sort of, my calves cramp like crazy when I go for runs. I figure I'm dehydrated and need electrolytes, the pain is brutal and usually lasts 24 hours....have you experienced cramping?
