Couldn’t have been said any better, there has been a lot of negativity lately and it is time things change! There used to be a huge push to encourage new pilots and make everyone feel welcome in the hobby we all love. Somewhere along the way some people forgot that they were new at one point too and started to think they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. We definitely need more humble pilots who want to help the guy just starting out, not tear him down because you don’t like the gear he has or his flying style.

Been in the hobby since 2014 and it’s always been this way. I had sarcasm thrown at me from the very creator of this channel over a noob question. Used to be? Dude it never was… maybe Steeles changed for the better over the last 6+ years but that first impression left a taste of “I better not meet you in person” effect.

@@creationlabsinc.189 I don't recall anything like this when Charpu was flying through tree gaps. Everybody seemed to be good to me. The worst I recall seeing as everybody throwing friendly side jabs at each other and that was it. I must have dodged it if it was going on then.

I totally agree. And the communities really are one of the best parts of this hobby. I have been flying for years and mostly just keep to myself for the online portion of the hobby, but I really appreciate all of the good and inspiration this hobby brings to me and to others, and for the people who make it that way. This is one of my favourite of your videos to date (and I've been watching since your sticker quad vid which got me into fpv btw). The vibe here is so perfect and the flying just completes it. The silent/positive gang is still here and we're ready to congratulate and encourage when we're excited about something. The fpv aura has definetely changed since the golden age and not necessarily for the better but the only way we'll get it back is if those who knew it choose to spread it again. That all sounds super vague but all I mean to say is that nothing's lost forever and epic videos like this will inevitably bring back the glow. Huge respect Mr Steeve, keep rippin ballz 😎

Well we love watching you fly with peeps probably as much as you love doing it😅💙💙💙 the community is what got me into fpv, and i get you by the newer people knowing everything instead of just loving the sport and having fun, we all love our favorite parts or etc but the group i fly with never usually act like thet. At most we will chat about new stuff releasing but we dont fight about better or best or etc of course we are all in our early to mid 30s so that might have something to do with it 😅😅💙💙💙

Dude, flying with other people in person completely changes the hobby and makes it so fun. I went from being a tech nerd on it to almost a sportsman mentality. Meeting one fpv friend made me want to fly fly fly not build build build. Haven't noticed any negative shift in comments and community because I don't do that stuff online really. I havent flown in a few months due to cold weather in masachusetts. You broke my silence. I have felt that way about the social media being too much apart of the community. I understand that we all don't live close to each other. Hell I live 10 minutes away from Getfpv and many pilots. But I don't have the spark anymore to get out and fly. I've been following you since you had 25,000 subscribers back when you flew kiss v1 and 18a esc's. Your video and love for cars and qwads kept me super interested for years. I've had dji goggles for 8 months and never flown with them. I remember the first RR episode debut... I miss those days. And your the only fpver I haven't met that I've wanted to. I'm with you on the social stuff. It's like people don't want to go outside and see each other anymore. I would absolutely love to having flying buddies. Have only ever seen two multirotors in my life that weren't mine, and they were both for floating around and looking at stuff. With the FAA doing what it does, it feels like the window will close without ever getting to join anyone in the sky. Whatever happens, I'm gonna rip like crazy when the temps come up. Gotta learn new tricks!

I have literally never flown once with another pilot. Did get some help from a friend my first time out but he didn't bring his drone. Thereafter nothing. My setup is basic and I only have one drone. I also don't have an hd camera at all yet but I'm going out and flying and posting my DVR in the hopes that I can make a few fpv friends. It was your videos that convinced me I had to get into this and I'm still inspired by your content. And seeing you still flying analogue reminds me not to get gear envy but to just go and fly as much as possible.

Flying with my people. Is the only way. It's cathartic. Also, what you said about finding your gear etc. and flying. That's what separates people doing this for years and people who haven't. Eventually, you find what works. You rarely think about change anymore, and you focus on flying with your people.

Great video and nice to see you guys getting together even if it’s for a short time. That’s friendship don’t take your friends for granted. I think with all the negativity going around, finger pointing and just general hate. It can be frustrating and annoying. Over the past few years of being in this hobby I can only say that I know some things but not everything. I’m not going to be that “Hap Shaughnessy” ;character from The Red Green Show) thinking that I know everything that needed to know when I really know nothing or nothing much. What happened to tutorial videos? Anything new? Maybe video editing ideas of how to quickly edit videos instead of hours of producing. But I think the flight videos are pretty good, specially when you’re out with friends.
