Instructional as always Steve, I managed to overload ours last summer with two e-bikes at 38 Kg's total. I had to buy new bolts to the "hinge" ten we where fine again. Now I only mount Bibbi's e-bike at the inner position and my much lighter MTB on the outer. So now we are within spec for max at one position and max total with good margin. With only my MTB it works to open and close the door, but with full load it feels like you stress it. I really like to have the bikes there. We bought a cover to protect the bikes but we're not using that any more since it trips water on top and get heavy and the bikes got even more dirty under it. Go figure, vortex got more dirt in there than without the cover. Keep it up!

Cheers Mattias. In the end a tow bar and tow bar rack would be better but taking into account cost this is far cheaper and leaves money for electrics. Also the more you put on the more you overload the van, looking under the van yesterday I noticed it is already riding on bump stops with no load on. Will have to get air assist maybe next year. Also found the water heater after your last comment though I should look :), yes its underneath middle of the van. Expect this to be difficult to get to when it does go wrong.

@@BrackstonesTravelAdventures I'm happy with mine. There is pro's and con's with everything. Those tow bar racks are ot as practical instead. With two lightweight bikes you will be fine. I drove on really bad roads when ours took the hit and with too heavy bikes. Air suspension does good. Go with electrics! You will be happy with that. This weekend I never were below 90% of that 150Ah (or actually 161Ah) battery. But heater has reset button indoors? The Whale need reset if you cut out LPG.

@@BrackstonesTravelAdventures I fancied One of these for my Ducato but wife Ebike weighs 25kg so thats out. so fitted a towbar and use an Easyfold xt3 which I already had. had to fit a reversing cam as well as it now turns off the sensors when fitted. all good now. enjoyed the video.

@@BrackstonesTravelAdventures towbar was £381 and I fitted myself. not hard, though it was still a van when I did it so wiring was straightforward. towbar carrier means its easier to load and its a triple . As theres no rear view mirror I also fitted a rearview camera mounted as a numberplate frame. Its excellent and put wire through numberplate light hole.

Great video, thanks. Just unboxed ours, went to put the top bar on yesterday with the reccomended Sikaflex 252. Other than 3cm of Sikaflex we managed to squeeze out of the tube which was a real real struggle (new tube and in date), its impossible to get more out. Is this usual? Any tips greatly received 🙏

Not had that issue before and i have used it a lot on different projects, you have cut off the end nozzle a bit to make a bigger whole. It should come out ok with a good mastik gun

If you put it on the other side then you will not be able to open the first door as it will hit the bike rack on the second closed door. It needs to go on the first opening door

I’m about ready to buy this product BUT for my Nissan High Top Cargo Van which I have seen this Rack installed on it as well as parked behind me is the NV200 Low Top that has it installed on it tor Buyers CONFIDENCE‼️GREAT VISUAL Video. One Quick question❓Does the rear doors need to be 100% FLAT for the 2-Horizontal Bars with the Silkaflex for 100% Proper Fit❓Thanks‼️

Hi, I can't really guarantee any proper fitment on curved door as I do not make these. I would say you would need over 70% coverage as the Sikaflex is the main bonding agent. The small clamps only hold it on as a secondary clamp. If you where worried fit the rack with the Sikaflex so it is secured then put bolts through the rack and door along the bars. The bolts will be covered over with the rubber gasket.

Problem with the opposite door is the number pate which will be covered, also this is the second door to open so you will not be able to easily open the doors, you would have to open the first door till it touches the bike rack then open the second door to get inside. Unusual to have the ladder on the first door. It was always designed to be on second door so the back rack would go on the first opening door

no they adjust across. I did not fully set it up before finishing the Vlog. Bike wheels do not stick out as far as shown in the vlog. If you see my Irish trip Vlog titles " Ireland motorhome tour 2021 Killarney Fleming's caravan site " at 2:40 you can see the bike rack properly setup

I get my Boardman MHT on it with 29" off road tyres on ok. They are stamped 29 x 2.25 I believe the 2.25 is the width

Not a lot of room but i expect when it is strapped onto the holder and the above bar in place it will be ok. You could also add a second strap to the wheels to hold in place. I would say they are all standard size racks

we have used it with two mountain bikes for over 7 month now and had no issues, been on very rocky overnight ferry fully loaded no problems

@ work fine wire strap will not brake
