It's possible he flew to the very edge of space and that he was able to hold his breath for long enough to take in the view, and then perhaps there was enough atmosphere for him to fly back, or he just let gravity pull him back down. That's not necessarily the same as being trapped further out in space itself, so it's not really definitive.

I think its also mentioned that all the supes there were depowered by the blast, so the tiny man would have been tiny permanently if he had survived. He would probably have taken more to kill if he was super still.

I don't think throwing Homelander into space is a good option - although I don't think he's completely like Superman, who can travel into space freely, Homelander can fly at very high altitudes that a normal person wouldn't be able to breathe at and he's said to Stan Edgar "you should see the view from space." My assumption is that he can hold his breath for a ridiculously long time.

To be fair, not even some versions of Superman can breathe in space, depending on which era or writer is involved. Some iterations of Superman he needs a space suit to survive in space, or he relies on Green Lantern to transport him in a bubble construct, but I'll admit I much prefer the versions of Superman who *CAN* breathe in space lol

He does travel at a finite speed though, and very much slower than the speed of light. He probably cant survive in space indefinitely, so just use a teleporting supe to teleport him to pluto or something. That way even if HL can fly in space, it'd take him an extremely long time to get back to Earth (assuming he can even _find_ Earth) and he may not survive the trip.

I'm not sure how many seasons they plan on doing and how true to the source material they're planning to stay with regards to plot, but I'd be disappointed if they don't give him the Ozai treatment. You don't just introduce the concept of de-supeing someone and NOT have that be Homelander's final fate.

The ear is vulnerable because of how well he can hear. The rod in the ear just increased the conduction to the ear drum (no penetration). Combine a conductive rod with the high pitch super loud sound and I think you can take him out.

I personally am a strong adherent to the theory that he was just lying to Maeve during the plane hijacking because actually saving the plane would have taken genuine effort and consideration on how to do it without killing everyone inside. His assertion that he cannot fly without pushing off of something, while not outright disproven yet, is extremely unlikely, as he can hover, accelerate and decelerate without the ground. In fact he decelerates to a hover to watch that plane go down, then presumably accelerates again without assistance to fly them back home. I imagine he could easily fly in space, probably even easier than in atmosphere, however it is likely he needs to breathe, so I doubt he could last in space for very long. He appears to fly at a very high mach speed though so you'd have to get him very far from earth to kill him that way, and even then we don't know if a lack of oxygen outright kills him or if he has a special supe mechanism that somehow prevents him from dying in a such a situation. I suppose its possible he flies simply by pushing himself through the atoms in the atmosphere, so maybe in that case he couldn't fly in spsce but its very unclear. Doesn't explain the hovering unless hes changing either his density or the density of the air around him.

I don't think he was lying, I think it's a matter of traction. When the mass = him+Maeve or another person, he can get enough traction from the air molecules to control his velocity in flight. But a loaded plane with fuel + cargo + passengers can equal almost a million lbs. Momentum = mass x velocity. The plane has far greater momentum than Homelander carrying a person, even if Homelander was flying at 1 million mph. And he's nowhere close to capable of that. As he also pointed out to Maeve, "catching" the plane moving at that velocity would crumple or shred it anyway.

Whether or not the plane could be saved doesn't change these facts: -he likely lied about needing to push off of something, so the rest of what he said is dubious even if the conclusion is the same -nothing we've seen implies he would be unable to move in space, so it wouldn't be a good thing to attempt, seeing as you really only have one chance to kill Homelander. If you fail and don't have an immediate plan B, he will wipe out millions before you can try anything else.

Ya, I definitely don't buy his "nothing to push off of excuse". He can lift Maeve just fine in midair. He did have somewhat of a point in not being able to lift the plane due to surface area issues. However it's possible that he could have cut the plane into smaller pieces and took the sections down one at a time. That would mean less trips then one person at a time.

It's not like the brakes work in the air. Since you don't know how he moves through the air (cause you know,... fictional concept) you don't know if he can actually reduce the plane's momentum. More likely, he'd crumple through it or just rip off the parts that he tries to hang up.

everyone keeps misunderstanding the leverage thing. He is talking about how he cannot offer the plane enough leverage to push the plane up, not that he cant go up... He's saying that he is such a dense point that if he were to exert such force on the plane it would only serve to push his body out of the metal hull of the plane.

He seems to take soft tissue damage (bruises, nose and eardrums) from massive and concentrated force. Punching is unlikely to get the job done because a fist is just a slower, blunter bullet, what you need is crushing damage: gouging his eyes, biting him or bear hugging him with enough force might do some lasting damage. If you could drive a spike or a power tool against his skin hard enough it might get through. Weve seen his father's skin was broken by extreme heat from butchers lasers, and he lacks a healing factor, so his jugular could be cut if a beam was reflected back at him, allowing him to bleed out. From what I know of science, if his skin is anything like metal or plastic, extreme cold would make it more brittle, and then driving a diamond tipped metal spike into it could crack the surface around it. He's not been shown to have resistance to psychic attacks from mesmer, mindstorm or Cindy, so maybe that factors in. Honestly I hope Tek Knight shows up, with actual V-based superintelligence, and puts him (or maybe ryan) to the test.

Homelander might actually have already been in space. In his conversation with Stan Edgar, Edgar says something like "Quite a view from up here" to which Homelander response with "You should see it from up in space". So, seems to indicate that he not only can fly but already has flown in space.

Eric Kripke, the showrunner, said in an interview if Maeve and Homelander kept fighting, she would’ve eventually killed him. So I guess just keep sending Maeve after him, she’s somehow stronger than he is and can just stab him in the ear a bunch. Edit: Everyone saying she lost her powers, I’m very aware. Guess what? So did Kimiko and she just took more V to get it back. Kripke also said Maeve is coming back for sure, so this is still possible.

Homelander said that he cannot hold the plane not because he needed ground point, he said that if he take the plane it would collapse cos materials and weight of plane. You cannot just grab plane or ship by it's nose and move it, it will collapse cos weight and pressure on small point of an enclosed. That's why placing him into space just make him more powerful, even regular human is more powerful in space. And if he may fly on earth with all the forces in space he will be even faster.

I can't remember if they mentioned in the series, but did Soldier-Boy always have that explosive power? or was it a result of the Russians continually experimenting on him? Because if it's the latter I highly suspect season 4 will introduce Mallery reverse engineering that ability and mastering it somehow, given that she now has unfettered access to SB and could just continue where the Russians left off. The capacity to strip supes of their powers will be key, either in the form of a weapon that produces the same effect or the ability to bestow the same power on any individual. Could see the return of Edgar, he would be inclined to work with Mallery as I'm sure he would appreciate possessing the same power. Could be they try to use it on Homelander and accidentally use it on Ryan which will cause a rift between them, given how Homelander feels about basic humans. In the comics, they had like a special frequency or something that they could arm on missiles fired from planes and they use this tactic to eliminate a lot of supes, understanding SB's ability could be how the series introduces that tech into their version of the story. Either way, super ready for season 4! lets gooooo 😃
