Sad thing about this is that Ryu is known as the guy who got outplayed by Faker not as one of the best mid laners we ever saw in the competitive scene... his skill level was up there with Faker. The KT Rolster Bullets came so close to 1st place so many times, but never managed to win. They were up 2-0 on SKT and lost the series 3-2. This game was pretty much the end of Ryu's career as a super star mid laner...

For those asking why it was a mirror match up, it was a game 5 and in game 5's for their league it is a blind pick. Since Zed was so strong at the time both teams ended up picking it.

Actually it was just bad played from ryu 1st > ryu knew that his ult dmg was enough to kill faker easy and knew faker needed to qss it, but yet he ignited + ulted him and faker qss'ed BOTH if ryu just ulted, waited for faker qss > then ignite him faker would have been dead too. Also, the last ryz auto DID go off, if you watch the slow motion you can see that he took dmg fromt hat auto attack, so faker could have just ed instead of shadow backwards + e. I guess the shadow e looked cooler tho :) Still, ryu misplayed that and faker did play this the best possible way..

+JtheKproduction he cancelled a very important auto just before faker flashed, by using his q a millisecond too early. if you watch closely, you can even see the blood animation on faker, but the auto doesn't register and do dmg because Ryu cancelled it with his Q (which he misses due to Faker's flash), so in the end, faker lives with about 100hp, about the amount that AA would have dealt. That looks like the biggest mistake Ryu made in this. The rest was just Faker doing what Faker does: dodge just about every skillshot possible with unreal mechanics while being incredibly efficient with his own dmg output. So, in the end, it just goes to show... Faker is an unkillable demon god.

Faker as well.. but he dies.. and its 4v4 versus a fed Vayne(Piglet) which is pretty much GG. Another thing, the fight continued not more than 3-4 seconds. The Cooldown of Zed's passive is 6 seconds. RYU ALREADY PROCCED IT. Canceled or not .. IT wouldn't do more dmg than his Q. Faker just won a duel from 30% hp or even a bit less versus 100% hp target near his turret. He didn't give him time to proc his passive again and made insanely good moves and took the proper decision. Ryu did not fuck up as much as you think, the fight just didn't last long enough for him to survive.

It has to be very painful to play against Faker. This fight for example: Ryu is a challenger, means he is very skilled too. He got huge advantage because Faker took few serious hits from the turret and had only half of his hp left. And if I remember correct Ryu even had a little bit better items too. But still can't win that fight against Faker. It's like.. when you see him on the loading screen you can only think "oh... gg.. surr at 20. There's nothing we can do to win him." You are already lost.

sinaputkiacc No, use your brain mate, he is at the third tier mid turrent and bot lane is at their inhib, why would you think faker has less items? Considering that faker won his lane thats just a silly statement to make. Also, you don't seem to understand that faker had a huge advantage with that qss, sure he was very low hp, but the fact that faker could qss ignite AND deathmark (which is like 800-1200 dmg) pretty much explains why that insane amount of turret damage didnt really matter because faker had that qss. Anyway, i don't want to discredit fakers play in any way, he outplayed him and did everything right that he could, but ryu misplayed that one because he was too overconfident and thought that faker was dead. He should have ignited faker and keep auto attacking until faker would have been forced to ulti to try and escape, OR he could have ulted faker but NOT ignite at the same time, simply because faker had to qss the deathmark anyway so igniting and deathmark at the same time was just silly right there. Like i said, faker completely destroyed ryz for being over confident...
