Where to See ORANGUTANS in SARAWAK, MALAYSIA - (With Kids)

We spent 2 amazing hours being super close to one of the most amazing apes on the planet, the Borneo Orangutans.
The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre in Sarawak, Borneo, Malaysia is maybe one of the best places in the world where you can see semi-wild orangutans.
They will come super close to get food if there is lack of fruits in the Jungle, sometimes even approach from the rear without being noticed.
The rangers in the Semenggoh natural reserve are maybe the best in the field. They are knowledgable and show genuine love towards the animals.

Some people expect Semenggoh to be like Sepilok. Semenggoh is a wildlife centre so, they are free to roam and they may choose not come during the feeding time.

I've been to Sepilok and yeah... they seem to be milder, tamer over there. This 53 years old orangutan is so gorgeous.. her furs are stunningly long and befitting her old age. The Tapshanov family along with the rest of the visitors that day were so lucky.

The orangutan was first described scientifically in 1758 in the Systema Naturae of Carl Linnaeus as Homo troglodytes. It was renamed Simia pygmaeus in 1760 by his student Christian Emmanuel Hopp and given the name Pongo by Lacépède in 1799.
