Quick note @dilmer, at kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5ynqHaNa5epiNE you forgot to mention that you also need to enable "Preview packages" in the Feature tool configuration. Else the MRTK3 packages do not show up.

Hi @dilmer, in packages when imported under ux component - slate is not found, do we need to install latest version of unity, I'm using 2020 version

Interesting, I haven’t messed with this in a while, have you checked the hierarchy, and see if it shows any game object which could be responsible for this?

i tried running mrtk3 on HL2 but when i run it no UI shows up, just a blank screen app with pointers

I have seen that happened many times, make sure the HL2 has OpenXR enabled, I remember having to do that when I tested it, also review all player settings as one little missing check could do it 😅 If you still have issues let me know and I can try on my end.

This was very helpful but I need to add locomotion. MRTK3 doesn't seem to have the teleport functionality of MRTK2. Could you do a tutorial for how this works now?

Hey Dilmer:) Thank you for your great videos! Have you by any chance worked on a project making use of MRTK3 new UX elements but at the same time utilizing features such as spatial awareness? I can't seem to make those work together. For example, is the MRTK game object deprecated for MRTK3? How would one then add all features provided formerly through it? Do you know anything regarding that?

@@musicgotmelike9668 I got a reply on a github issue that I opened up regarding Spatial Awareness. It sounds like this functionality is now covered by Unity's built-in ARFoundation APIS. For scene reconstruction (i.e., meshing), see the ARMeshManager API. For scene understanding, i.e., planefinding, see the plane detection API. The github issue (Issue 11400) has links to Unity's documentation for both.

For MRTK 3 I didn’t see support for HoloLens 2 emulator just yet, but you can use 2 options: in editor simulation and remote app (but this one does require a device) for now I think editor simulation works good enough. Have you tried one of the examples MRTK provides ? I would say test those and see if you have the same results, if they work then you have a baseline to compare. Thanks

Weirdly enough I had the same issue and it went away by simply resetting my Unity layout back to default, try it and let me know I think there is something happening with the simulation prefab implementation. Thanks for the info.
