this looks so interesting and unique!! super cool that fightcade and flycast are giving life to some lesser known games that absolutely deserve it. i wonder if the abandonment of the dreamcast factored into this remaining obscure unlike other naomi fighters...

Yeah in my research it looks like it was supposed to come out for the Dreamcast but that plan was shelved. I've seen mention that this was released in NA but I cannot find any real traces of it stateside. Unless you were super in the know, i don't know how outside of Japan would have found out about this back then

What the upside of just holding back instead of dodging? Since if u just hold back you're not vulernable to color attacks

traditional blocking has less counter play to it. You don't incur the dodge penalty when thrown and you can block colored attacks, but its much more difficult to stunt the opponents offensive pressure the way dodging and countering can

we dont have the frame data yet, so i can't comment on that. but the difference between blocking an entire string and maybe (maybe) taking a turn back vs dodging their string and punishing them as early as the 2nd hit skews the game to encourage dodging.
