Sorry that BS. All four members of the are credited for writing this song in 2005. Chris and Gwyneth only started dating in late 2002 and her father died in October 2002. So he had maybe only known her for a short while before this happened.

There’s a performance they did in Toronto few years back (it’s on KZbin somewhere) where Chris Martin the lead singer let’s the crowd sing the last part all in unison by themselves and it’s the most uplifting awesome sounding piece of art everyone singing bringing the song and concert to an end...damn near spiritual experience. People really hate on Coldplay and Chris Martin for being bland or too earnest or whatever, but the energy and charisma the band has live really is legendary. I never thought of it begore, but CM really does handle a crowd a lot like Freddie. I think it's because they really put everything into every performance.
