We had just made it by sailboat to Grenada from Dominica to escape the storm when you reported the intense strengthening and the wobble to the south. We started seeing other boats heading south immediately after your update, which enabled us to sail to safety in Trinidad before ocean conditions became impassible. Trinidad Our day yesterday was uneventful and the night was rather quiet. There was some rain around 7:00 am in the morning but nothing significant happened. Thank God. I hope that our Caribbean neighbours can weather this first storm as the season has just started and we all know how devastating these systems can be. Let us all stay vigilant and always be prepared to face future storms and hurricanes. It is better to be prepared than to fail to do so by assuming that the next system would pass as Beryl did.
