I liked how you explained your strategy in the beginning, definitely keep doing thet

Your narration was perfect: well organized to keep the runtime (relatively) short, but insightful enough to let the viewer know what strategies were going on in your heads. Very cool!

Can't say thank you enough for your channel. Nobody else does long form videos of entire games that are actually watchable like this. Crank you up to 1.75 speed and receive an incredible dose of experienced gameplay. Thank you again!

The more frequently you take the viewer aside and discuss your internal reasoning and general strategy, the better the video is. Love to get a peek inside your mind, would be great if we can hear what Chris is thinking too. Tell him to grab a camera!

I love this game. I have the global and had a friend make a custom box of wood to look like a WW2 artilery ammo box and smaller boxes to fit each country. They all fit inside the ammo box with the maps. He even made custom dice rolling trays for each side. It's a verry cool looking set when I bring it out to play with friends.

That was an emotional rollercoaster! Also, this video has been a big help. I started my first game of Axis and Allies yesterday and have been studying the rules/strategy to prep for when my turn happens tomorrow. (We played for 3 hours and I still haven't gone yet!) 😂 That is because I am playing as Italy which, as you know, comes last in the turn order. However, and am confident I can win the Mediterranean! The British player is a player and is scared by the number of ships Italy has, so he will either retreat or take my lone cruiser instead of killing my battleship. Either way, it works for me! After that, I plan to Focus on Egypt and prepare to take Gibraltar the next turn. Wish me luck!

Insane game. the house rules definitely favor the allies, Japan when they took sydney couldve declared game over in out of box but then the war would only be half as long, so I'm glad I got to watch this instead. Great back and forth. Hope you record more games. the outcome of germany's eastern front as always decided the whole war... interesting how larry harris was able to make the game this way (and very historically accurate

Such good gameplay by the both of you! I was seriously impressed by both the Axis and Allies' strategies, each playing their own strengths. Brian, your commentating cracks me up. There are some things I like about your house rules, like the additional pieces. The tokens thing I'm neutral on, but the factory and military base addendum seems to break the game personally. Not to take anything away from Chris' gameplay (it was great!), but I do feel like the house rules favor the Allies a bit too much. I think your factory change would definitely help. Thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Keep the videos coming!

wasn't the game over, early? Japan had India/Calcutta, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Sydney, Tokyo, and Bejing/Shanghai on turn 12. That is 6 of the 8 victory cities. That is game over. More to the point, how do you build 14 of ANYTHING (in that case, subs) off the coast of California with a major IC that builds just 10 units a turn maximum?

Dang I just started playing this game online and it must be a big headache trying to follow where everything is going when playing on board. Do you write on paper all your moves before executing them ? Just wondering how it is done (Since I never played on board)
@BrianPlaysG4010 ай бұрын
I will occasionally write out moves ahead of time if there’s a particular strategy I’m trying to accomplish-especially for the first couple Axis turns. But yeah, it’s a lot to balance. That’s what makes it so fun!

Military bases produce as much as the IPC value of the territory they're built on, up to a maximum of 3. Make this change and maybe the Axis will someday win again
@frederikvoets52983 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, you can't buy a major complex in Malaya. Only in "original" territory with a value +3IPC.

We play with our house rules that have different levels of industry: military base, minor factory, major factory, and industrial center. Each factor has different restrictions as to where you can build it and what they can and cannot produce. It’s a rule change that makes the game more dynamic and we think balanced. You check out our house rules in some of Brian’s linked videos. Thanks!

Great video bryan. I think Germany would do a lot better with an immediate initial focus on the east (buying tanks in round one and attacking the Soviets on round 2. I am 31 minutes into the video and at this point, Moscow seems pretty impregnable. )
@thegorb26533 жыл бұрын
See how did Russia change the momentum? every game I play (and we are pretty experienced) Germany crushes Moscow and Japan comes from behind, Russia is donesky, AA is a great game but they all boil down to the same thing if Moscow falls the Axis have won and they rush it as they have the economic advantage against them, Russians are essentially helpless.

The Allie’s won when they first landed In Gibraltar and the entire German force pulled away from Moscow just from the threat of the Allie’s, they hadn’t even landed yet. Probably the worst move I’ve ever seen any axis, Germany threw the game so hard 💀
I’m confused how the Japanese fleet moved from SZ 54 off the coast of Queensland all the way to Malaya without the benefit of a naval base. I think it was Round 4 when you made the move. I didn’t see anything on the house rules giving fleets additional move capabilities so how exactly did you fleet consolidate in SZ 37?

Great video! But I feel like japans delay on action on Pearl Harbor or the Middle East has given all the momentum to the Allie’s.

I love this game and I have always been tempted to get 1940. But it boggles my mind that with there being so much action and so many units in Europe that the board is so badly designed. The amount of wasted space in areas where there are rarely any units, southern africa etc. And europe spaces being tiny is really off putting. Especially when looking at this version where unit numbers and pieces for facilities are increased. It's so messy
@legendsofhypixel2321 Жыл бұрын
I hope you realize that Africa and North and South America are bigger than they are respresented as and Europe is already scaled up. You can't just cut out whole portions of the world if you're playing on a world map.
