I would like to share one thing about Dhoni that if u see at 5:55 while Australians are running in between wickets even if the ball is coming towards to Dhoni for runout he acts like it’s not coming so that opponent will slow down by watching Dhoni’s body language then gets out immediately. That’s the greatness of Dhoni. Even in the last scene if that out misses india will loose the match. That’s why he runs that long and hit the wickets instead throwing it to wickets. Truly inspirational person.

I will explain for those who do not understand Cricket: In order to dismiss (out) the opponent there are several ways. M.S. Dhoni is a wicket keeper that means he gets to stay nearest to the wicket (those three wooden rods behind the batsman) or also called as the stumps. Wicket keeper can dismiss the batsman (Batter, that's how Americans say it) by the following: 1) A direct catch after the ball touches the batsman's bat but without the ball hitting the ground. It doesn't matter if the batsman is inside or outside the crease (the white line). If it is a direct catch, it is considered out (at 1:50). 2) Hit the stumps with the ball in his hand when the batsman is out of the crease. The crease is supposed to be batsman's safe line. He is safe only till any part of his body such as legs, arms or his bat (while he is holding it) is inside the crease (from 2:11). 3) Or throw the ball at the stumps when the batsman is out of the crease (at 4:15). Pls like it so that Rachel can see this comment and is not confused anymore :D

You need the ball to be in your hands while hitting the wickets! The one where u are talking about, the ball hit the stumps, he just re-directed the ball with his hand. In the angle of video it just looks like his hand flicked it, but it was the ball.

At 4:40 ball hit the stumps and not his hands, he deflected the ball onto the stumps without looking. To get someone out ball has to hit the stumps or else ball has to be in your hands while you hit the stumps. Also not to mention you missed alot of neat tricks and bluffs he did. It's his presence of mind that makes him the best wicket keeper on the world.
