A plastic prying tool would probably be better than using a flat head screwdriver to take the chips out.

Good video. I just bought one of these and now I think I know why I couldn't get it to power up. I took the back off, plugged it in and pushed the button in. It powered up for a split second and then powered off. I'll have to pull the button out and see if that works

I’m having a similar issue with my newly acquired Pac Man Plus. Wouldn’t turn on, tested fuses and harnesses, then it turned on and worked for 1 day, then died again. Is there a more precise way to diagnose a short and repair, aside from rewiring the entire thing? Are these 22awg wires of it comes down to it?

Got my Ms Pac-Man working but it's making a noise like when your ears are ringing

I've got an 81/82 model of ms pac man coin op with reversed text. I contacted a repair guy who said it would cost a grand to resolve. It just doesn't seem that complicated an issue, any suggestions?

It may be too late, but DO NOT spend a grand trying to fix the text. That is a board problem, you can always buy a new board for the cab for 1/5 of the price at most.😊

@WrigglyShark thank you. I hope it is not a permanent problem, as i would like to maintain the vintage quality of it. I think something was jarred loose. We had moved it and it worked fine for a while, then suddenly this issue arose.

@@MrNobody-fk7fc there are tons of resources online, it’s most likely a chip starting to go, but you cannot be sure, I would do what he did in this video and look for any corrosion on the board, because that may also be the issue. A chip can also be lose on the board since it was moved recently.
