I honestly thought the idea of the other stunticons being little more then armor was always kinda dumb. But to be fair, it was likely a constraint of the g1 toy, and so they had to do it in the cartoon. And ever since, all g1 designed toys did that. Still, I'm pretty sure it's gotten to the point they can actually make them into the actual limbs now. Would be nice to see.

I just realized something, I was going through a mental checklist of all the third party menasors that I know of, and it has come to my attention that no one ever made a stop motion for TransFormMission Havoc. Like it's release date and peak popularity falls squarely in the gap between "third-party transformers exist now" and "reviewing and animating are popular"
