We just got back today from a seven day cruise. I saw a lot of Americans but mostly European. The way to cruise is to get at least the Aurea package and upgrade to premium drinks. We had an amazing experience. I’ve been on other cruises like Royal, Princess, and Carnival. MSC is different but great choice. The best part of the ship is the thermal waters at the Spa. They have flavored showers with mint or orange. The jacuzzi there gives you a full body massage. Thinking of going again in December.

I am thinking of doing the the Maraviglia out of New York or doing the Armonia which has a Cuba stop. The Armonia is a little older and smaller but it’s still a great ship. It's a beautiful boat for sure, but very compartmentalized. The Piazza Grande would require going up and down steps to go to different areas . I prefer a more open layout like that on the RC Oasis class ships.

Hi D.A. Arthur, thanks for watching. I know, the reviews of MSC Seaside were unbelievably negative at the beginning. Some were warranted, others were just "band-wagon'" jumpers, many of whom never stepped a foot onboard. After my recent two cruises on her and 3 future cruises booked, I can say that MSC Seaside is one of my favorite new cruise ships. When you factor in all that there is to do with the beauty of the ship itself, not to mention the value of of booking an Aurea or even Yacht Club experience, it may make sense to give it a try. I will also mention that since I booked my cruises, prices have been steadily increasing, but still nowhere near the cost of the competition.

It was great to see that the same money that got us a mini-suite on NCL got us a Yacht Club deluxe suite on the Seaside with enough left over to afford a first class flight down to Miami! The cancellation may just have been a blessing in disguise! We'll see.

Hi Keira K, thanks for watching. MSC Cruises has some of the most modern and beautiful ships. They offer ships similar to other cruise lines with features like water parks, zip lines, kids clubs and a variety of entertainment, accommodations and activities. Where they differ is that MSC Cruises has its roots in the Italian culture. You'll see this represented in the cuisine and shows onboard, plus they do tend to attract a much more international clientele, even when they cruise from Miami. Another major difference, is that MSC prices their cruises based on "experiences". Each level of experience has certain inclusions from choice of room location, dining preferences and services and at the higher levels of Aurea and Yacht Club, even included beverages packages, exclusive lounges and more. For me personally, these differences are not negatives, in fact, in all my MSC Cruises (5 so far), I've really enjoyed some of these differences. I recommend comparing an MSC cruise to other cruise lines you may be considering. While their prices have increased significantly over the past two years, there is still a tremendous value with MSC over other lines, especially if you look to book in the Aurea or Yacht Club. MSC Cruises is trying to make a major impact within the North American cruise market (not an easy thing to do when going up against the three big cruise lines). They are going to increase capacity over the next several years in Miami with two new terminals and larger ships, then possibly branch out to other departure ports.

My brother just returned home Sunday from a cruise on the Seaside, and except for the comfortable room, would never take another MSC cruise. The food was never hot, the portions small, and just subpar in general. $10.00 for 100grams of choccolate( that's 40.00/pound) and $7.00 for a gelato. The shows were high school level productions. I'm surprised that from an Italian cruise ship, that this level of poor service is provided. This was nothing but a small step above a Carnival cruise. Spend a bit more and travel on a different cruise line.

Went on this cruise ship about a month ago. The ship had a lot of open space that wasn't being used and you had to pay for almost everything! (Except for food and drinks) The staff was kinda rude (except for the restaurant waiters/waitresses, they were awesome!), and the buffets were kinda bland! I wouldn't recommend this cruise line. There are a ton of other factors on why this is not a good cruise but I wont get into that.

Your tours are awesome as always but it seems to me the ship has some problems. The chrome seems very overused, the interiors don't seem to have much variety, there does not seem to be a large selection of food, the bars don't look like fun places to drink, and not many people appear to use the pools. To me the ship does not appear to cater to the North American audience.

After cruising on the Seaside twice, I think MSC's original marketing of the ship as being for the U.S. market, should have been more about offering another choice in the crowd. I personally like the fact that the MSC Seaside is different than cruise ships from major players like Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. Interestingly, a large percentage of the current guests cruising on the Seaside are not from North America, mostly because they have a larger following in Europe, South America and other parts of the world. Your points about the limited dining venues, lively bars and people in the pools is quite accurate, but on the other hand, the Seaside and MSC Cruises in general offer a very solid product. The food choice in the buffets and dining room as well as service was excellent. The water park, zip line and other activities were fantastic (as good or better then several other ships I've been on with my family). The main theater, while rather plain in appearance and smallish in size as compared to other cruise lines, offered an intimate setting for some of the best live and skilled performances I've seen on any ship. Do I think the Big 3 cruise lines have anything to worry about? Maybe not for the time being, but MSC is investing heavily in the U.S. market and they have the financial resources to continue doing so. I think in another 5 or so years, MSC could make a run for positioning among mainstream cruise lines. It will not be easy and they need to continue to develop their brand identity in North America so that confusion or misconceptions doesn't deter people from giving them a try.

I’m not North American, but I’ve been on a few cruise ships in my time, and as a Brit I can say this ship looks garish, dull and very grey in my opinion. It looks like the same bloke was hired to design every public space, and his mate had some grey paint and chrome that had ‘fallen off the back of a lorry’ that needed using up. I think that every interior I’ve seen in this video lacks any softness for tranquility, colour for visual appeal or theme to separate the areas. Such a shame. :(

How in the word can this reviewer claim this ship offers an incredible aft view? Perhaps when you are standing, but laying on a beach chair-which most people do on a cruise-you face a piece of tinted plexiglass everywhere you go on the ship that, at best, cuts your views during the day, and at worst becomes almost completely black at night so you can't see anything.
