When a highly skilled welterweight has a 74 in reach he's a big welterweight. Bud is huge physically. Shawn had his moments especially when Bud was conventional but once Bud went southpaw it was cancel Christmas. Shawn's dad was spot on. He was really getting beat up. Not just losing. Bud and Jr is a pick'um for me. I don't see any weaknesses in either champion. I wish they would've fought 5 years ago. They both are still badazzes. Just a little older.

He usually always has enough in the tank to finish but you could tell on that 2nd knockdown he didn’t have his legs. 1st knockdown down was just a good clean counter from Crawford but it didn’t really hurt Porter he was just leaving his self open for that with all that lounging in. He got caught with a mean shot from Crawford end of 2nd rd right on the chin that was harder than any of these knockdown shots and he ate that. He was just gassing out and his pops knew it

Dad did not stop it, the referee did. Throwing in the towel is just a suggestion, only the referee can stop the fight. Doctors cannot stop the fight, corners cannot stop the fight, they can simply give suggestions, and the referee gets to use those suggestions to make a decision. Often times the referee will simply throw the towel back and keep the fight going.
