If I may, I think the complaint in this case shouldn't necessarily be that the game has online requirements. The point of streaming is that this game has petabytes of data. Nobody can realistically install a game of that size, and the 100+gb install of MSFS 2020 was a huge complaint for many as well with the game taking so long to install that people who purchased it on steam were no-longer able to refund the game after the amount of time the client took to install the game. Streaming is what allowed this game to be as big and grand as it is promising to be. That being said, I think it's more than reasonable to ask why they didn't have nearly enough server capacity to handle a launch they they knew would be massive , especially with the game being on game pass at launch

Exactly, they should have anticipated this before the launch of MSFS 2024, they knew that there are thousands if not millions of people who are looking to download and play MSFS 2024. I've be waiting for 7 hours and 20 minutes for a server. It's effing BS.

@@RogaRy I was in IT for 47 years, retired in 2019. My expertise was in automated load testing where we harnessed customized, application specific load generation servers to hammer the target infrastructure and application... Both during development and prior to go live. It's amazing what innocuous or minor misconfigurations in app servers, network devices, or other parts can screw up an otherwise well designed and functionally great application. I suspect the lack of any major user involved beta test deprived asobo and Microsoft of a true load test before launch. I'm sure they will get it sorted out in due time

I know its terrible ...I pay good money and have to wait in a queue , and thats after having to wait over 4 hours to get the game Updated ? I dont think Microsoft have thought this out at all

I'm totally on your side. Going on 2 hours waiting. So they put the game in the cloud for everyone to try and run? Freaking brilliant move. I'm going back to 2020. Hopefully ms keeps support for 2020 for awhile.

Even if this is a single player game it requires an active internet connection to connect to the servers and download the world map data. The installation of MSFS 2020exceeds a 200 GB. Do you really expect the world to be available in a 12 GB installation?

Got the aviator edition and I hate this loading queue I want to play single player or career objectives not played it yet because of the queues not like I'm looking to play multiplayer

I'm sharing your pain and this sucks, paid for prem deluxe, predownloaded, launched on the hour 4pm BST and got stuck at 97% for 3 hours, called it there, re launched and now a queue, its now 00:01 and still no progress

I agree, the worst thing is the trailer. During loading is using 90 percent of GPU, why they put that to cook GPU. Look at the task manager now. The game didn't start, but it's still cooking GPU, cause of useless trailer

Lol you say “single player game” in the title as if this entire game isnt built to use the internet so it can render the biggest map in the world…. Which is is THE WORLD lol but games on the internet runs on servers, and this one is having issues because they didnt expect so many people to try to join at once.
